"I don't know how Camila puts up with your bullshit." Luis said out of nowhere.
"Hey, what's that supposed to mean?" Lauren complained getting out of bed.
"Exactly what you heard. You scared her date yesterday for no reason at all, and now you'll probably just call her and apologize and she'll be your BFF again." The Brazilian explained getting dressed.
"That is not true." Lauren answered crossing her arms over her chest.
"Which part? Ruining her date or the fact that she'll forgive you no matter what you do?" Luis told her smirking.
"None. I didn't ruin her date, Liam was clearly not the guy for her." Lauren said seriously. "And if she's mad at me, I don't think she'll just forgive me that easily."
"Really? What's the longest you two have been in a fight?"
"A whole fucking year you fucking idiot." Lauren replied rolling her eyes. "Or did you forget we hadn't talked to each other at all until earlier this month?"
"Okay, you're right. And then you just went to her concert, and she forgave you, didn't she?" Luis asked her kinking an eyebrow.
"No, because I didn't have to apologize. I didn't do anything wrong, things just got weird after she..." Lauren answered lingering on the last word.
"She told you she loved and you freaked out?" Luis finished her sentence.
"I didn't freak out." The singer said biting her lip. "Can we like not talk about that?" She added uncomfortably. Even after more than a year, that was still a touchy subject for both Latinas.
"Look Lauren, Camila is just trying to move on and you're making it really hard for her." Luis said placing a supporting hand on Lauren's shoulder.
"Trying to move on from what? You don't think she still has feelings for me, do you?" The green eyed girl said chuckling nervously, but deep inside she knew Camila still loved her, and she had started to question her feelings as well.
"You should call her, apologize, and stop taking her for granted." Luis suggested with a smile.
"Don't you have to go to class or something?" Lauren said changing the subject completely when it was obvious Luis was right.
"Yeah, but Lauren I'm serious. You need to start acting like a better friend."
"You know shit about our friendship, please stay out of this." Lauren said angrily.
"Alright, whatever, I'm just trying to help you." Luis told her taking a step back.
"Well don't, I don't need your help." Lauren answered defensively.
"Fine, I'm just going to go then." Luis said and closed the door loudly behind him.
Lauren knew Luis was completely right, but she didn't want to accept it. She wasn't a horrible friend, things with Camila were just a lot more complicated than Luis could ever understand. Maybe she had made several mistakes along the way, but their bond was stronger than that. Camila didn't forgive her because she had to, but because they needed each other's friendship.
Throughout the year they hadn't talked to each other, their lives had changed completely. Camila had lost her love for music and performing, but there was no one she could talk to, and even though Lauren had enjoyed the college experience, she missed the excitement that the music industry had to offer, but she couldn't talk to her friends about that without sounding like a conceited diva. They had been through an intense journey together, which meant they understood what the other was going through better than anyone. And that was exactly why Lauren had to make things right once again before their friendship was damaged for good.
