chapter 10.

I slowly closed and reopened my eyes. Had I just said those forbidden three words? I bit my lips, didn't dare look into Jai's eyes afraid of what I would see. I stared at my shoes instead. He would probably think I was crazy, this was the second date, second date. Not just long ago we hadn't even been on speaking terms. After a few seconds of silence, which had felt like minutes, Jai put his hand under my chin, forcing me to look in to his beautiful eyes.

'I think I might love you too, Alexandra Rosie Evans' he said, his voice sincere.

My cheeks were flushing, and I didn't really know what to respond; my heart had been beating so fast, and now it was as if had stopped completely. I was blushing deeply, but I manged to give him an awkward smile, whih he returned with his adorable one. We called for the waitress, and Jai insisted on paying it, even though I tried to atleast make him split the note. He took my hand and we walked out off the boat. Jai was holding my hand in his, and I felt like the luckiest girl ever.

'I'm calling Beau so he can come pick us up again' said Jai, picking up his phone.

I quickly picked up my phone to see four missed calls from my my mum and five text messages. One was from my mum, asking me when I was coming home, two from Alice, one from Lea and one from... Jake? I frowned. Both Alice and Lea had asked where the date was and how it was going, I smiled and decided to answer them later. I opened the text from Jake.

u known u can du so much better than being with that little faggot, call me if you come to your senses

Disgusted, I immediately deleted the text.

'What's up babe?' said Jai, who saw my expression.

'Oh nothing, just Jake being a dick, but don't you worry'

'Oh, ok.. Beau'll be here in a minute' We sat down on a bench just by the canal and, surely enough, within a minute, Beau's silver car appeared. Music was blasting through the speakers.

'Hop in!' yelled Beau over the music. We both sat down in the back seat, and Jai held my hands in his, squeezing them slightly every minute. 'What Makes You Beautiful'  came on, and me and Beau was ugly singing high. I was singing directly to Jai, doing silly and exaggerated moves to every word. Jai was hiding his face in his arms, laughing. 

When we reached my house, Jai got out of the car with me, and he walked me to the door step.

'I had an amazing night Jai, it was... perfect'

'When you get a girl like you, you need to do everything to keep her you know..' Jai mumbled.

'I'm already yours' I whispered, kissing his lips softly. Jai responded it with enthusiasm, but we got interrupted by Beau, honking his horn frantically. 

'FUCK YOU!' Jai bellowed, giving Beau his finger. I just laughes, slighly embarrased. Beau was laughing hysterically, making kissing noises. I stuck out my tongue to him.

Jai shook his head to be.

'He's a sicko, I'm telling you...'

'I think he's funny'

'Ha-ha' said Jai humourless, but he was smiling. 'Goodnight love, see you tomorrow' He kissed me  lightly on my forehead. I pulled him in for a hug, and breathed in his lovely smell.

'Goodnight'
