So I started writing about the sleepover I had a few weeks ago and how fricken hot it was, the plan was to write over one or two days and then post but I kinda lost it after the second day. I didn't feel like it was long enough to post or whatever so it's kinda just sitting there doing nothing.
Note that this one might not be super long anyway, I just got back from a holiday with my family for a week and I'm really tired Rn.
Basically my mum decided to hire a houseboat for a week (you can google it. It's exactly what it sounds like) and drive up to Echuca (place in aus) to drive it down the Murray for the week (river in aus). So like as we're booking the thing we realise that it's pretty expensive to book for 4 people because most of the boats are either 2 people or 8-10 people and we didn't really need all the extra sleeping room when there was only 4 of us. So conveniently, my mum's cousin who lives in Sydney calls her just to see how she's doing (she didn't know about the boat yet, she called to ask about my mum who's come out of surgery recently) and mum explains the problem she's having with the houseboats. So mum's cousin tells her to hold on and walks away for 5 minutes and comes back with her husband saying that if she wants, they'll drive down from Sydney and join us and pay for a quarter of the price. My mum and her cousin are really close and really similar but they don't get to see each other too often because of distance so mum basically says yes automatically.
So my mum's cousins drive 9 hours to meet us in echuca and stay on a houseboat for a week. Overall I've gotta say it was really fun, mum's cousins are super chill and they've got 3 kids all over 23 and even a grandchild so they've gone through all the phases. They're also more lax about swearing which was awesome, like we were watching the AO final and Nadal messes up a really easy shot and one of mum's cousins goes "what are you doing? That's bullshit!" In a really old Italian mama voice, despite not having a natural Italian accent. Anyway, I didn't have service for a solid 4 days because...Optus. My mum is with Telstra and she had st least 2 bars of service the whole time. Rude.
Anyway the only real downside was that the shower water was filtered from the river (obviously. You can't just carry around a billion litres of fresh water on a boat) and because of that we all kinda smelled like river water for a week but you kinda get used to it. Ya girl also got an awesome tan from lying around on the top deck, we hella brown now. I got shoved in the river twice, fell in once and pushed other people in 3 times.
Anyway, my eyes are getting blurry Rn. It's kinda late (ish. Like 11pm) but getting like 5 hours of sleep a night for a week messed with you so imma end it here and just post this, if I remember anything super amazing when I'm somewhat conscious then I'll add it to the next one.
Aight peace out fam,
