Six hours and several tests later, I was sent home with strict orders to stay in bed and drink lots of fluids. I had picked up astomach flu bug. I was currently tucked into bed with Bobby snuggled up next to me. The bedroom smelled amazing, like lilacs. Clara had done a wonderful job of cleaning up.

I'd sent emails to all of my instructors, and to my study group. Tom would stop by and collect notes each day and turn in any homework I'd done. He'd also offered to let my study group meet here, so I wouldn't miss out.

Tom was perched at the end of the bed, sitting cross-legged, on his laptop. Rebel and Sassy were curled up in his spot. He was currently going over the budget trying to figure out what kind of help he could get while he was away filming for eight weeks. We didn't have any dates yet, but he wanted to be ready.

"Tom?" I said quietly.

"Yeah, babe?" He replied, I heard him shift.

"Can I get an extra pillow?" I asked. "I need something for my back."

"Of course." He answered. I heard him get up and leave the room. I stretched out and opened my eyes. He returned a minute later with a handful of pillows.

"Take your pick." He said. I reached up and tugged on the fluffiest one. He tossed the rest to the foot of the bed and helped me adjust it until I was comfortable. Then I decided I needed the rest, and he strategically placed them around me until I felt like I was floating. "How's that?"

"It's heaven." I said. "Can I have some water?"

"Yep." He said. He leaned in and kissed my forehead. "Anything else while I'm downstairs?"

"How about some blueberry ice cream?" I said with a smile.

"I can do that. Would you like whipped cream and chocolate on it?"

"Yes please!"

"I'll be right back." He said with a smile.

He returned ten minutes later with a bottle of water and a bowl of ice cream. After handing me the water, he grabbed his pillows from his side of the bed and used them to prop me up. Carefully, he nudged the animals out of the way and sat next to me on the bed. He balanced the bowl of ice cream on his knee and held a spoonful to my lips.

"I can feed myself." I said.

"I know, but I want to take care of you." He said. I smiled and opened up.

I woke around noon, drenched in sweat. I reached over to my night stand and grabbed my thermometer. I turned it on and stuck it in my mouth and waited. When it beeped, I pulled it out and looked. It read one oh three point two. I put it back on the night stand and called for Tom. I really had to pee, but I was so packed into the bed, that I couldn't move. I twisted and contorted my body, trying to free myself of the pillows and bedding, to little avail.

Tom came in and helped me.

"How did you sleep?" He asked.

"Not bad." I said. He helped me to my feet.

"Dizzy?" He asked. I shook my head. He let me go and I walked around to the bathroom.

I tended to my needs and poked my head out.

"Can you check my phone, see if the study group responded? I'm going to take a shower."

"Sure." He said. He reached over and grabbed my phone. "Looks like they don't mind the new plan. Someone suggests changing the start time to seven, to give them time to get here."
