Maia Mitchell walked up to the large building where the cast of The Fosters does their table reads. Maia just got back from Puerto Rico the week previous and was still tired and slightly jet lagged. She opened the door and walked to the food station to grab some breakfast before walking into the table read. She got an apple and a bagel and proceeded to go to the table read. As she walk about to walk in, she heard her phone ringing in her pocket.

“Hello?” She asked into the phone, moving out of the way and leaning against a wall.

“Hey, baby, it’s me,” Maia’s boyfriend, Ramy spoke. Maia was beginning to lose feelings for him over the past few months, but couldn’t gather up the courage to leave him.

“Oh. Hey Ramy, listen. I was just about to go in for a table read. Can I call you when it’s over?” She questioned, knowing she had time to talk before it started but not wanting to talk to him.

                “Yeah, of course, love you,”

“Love you, too,” Maia lied, hanging up the phone quickly. She knew she had to leave him, but she really didn’t want to do it over the phone. She made a mental note to meet him later to have a talk with him. She walked into the room for the table read and immediately became overwhelmed with the amount of people in the room. Multiple people came up to greet Maia and hug her. Maia muttered a few hellos, than sat in her seat. She noticed David was supposed to be sitting next to her today, and she smiled to herself. David Lambert was her co-star and current love interest on her show, The Fosters. In their last scene together a couple months ago, their characters had to kiss. Maia had to kiss David on multiple occasions on screen before, but none were quite as special as this one. She felt something and she was sure David did too. Secretly, she has known for quite a while now that David had a thing for her. She respected how he put his feelings aside so that she could be happy with Ramy, but now, her feelings for him were starting to develop.

“Maia!” David said, sitting in the chair beside Maia and smiling.

“David, I missed you!” Maia exclaimed, reaching over to hug David.

“I missed you, too,” he said, pulling away from Maia and reaching in his bag to get his phone, which he placed on the table in front of him. “How was Puerto Rico?”

“It was good, really hot. I missed home, though,” she admitted, folding her hands in her lap.

“I’m glad it went good. Listen, Cierra and Jake asked me if I wanted to go out for dinner and a couple beers tonight. Would you like to join?” David purposed. He hoped that Maia would catch on that he was asking her out.

Is he asking me out? Maia thought, questioning his actions. Taking a moment to collect her thoughts, she spoke. “Sure. What time?”

“I’ll pick you up around seven, if that’s cool,” he suggested.  He noticed Maia’s tone was casual so he wasn’t sure if she picked up on what he was trying to do. “Wear something nice,” he hinted.

“Deal,” Maia giggled. Before she had the chance to speak again, Bradley announced the beginning of the table read.

“The table read for episode 2011, Christmas Past will begin now.”

Hours after the table read had ended; Maia was in her room in her apartment trying to figure out what to wear. She wanted to wear something that would have David speechless, but also something that wouldn’t look like she was trying so hard. Maia’s dog, Sadie, walked up to her and started barking. Maia picked her dog up and kissed her head.

“What should I wear tonight, Sassy Sadie?” She asked in her cutest dog voice. She placed Sadie on her bed and gave her a quick belly rub before returning to her closet. She went through her clothes for probably the billionth time of the night, before noticing a short black dress with rhinestones on the top of it. She pulled it out and placed it to her body in front of the mirror and looked at her self. Sadie barked which caused Maia to laugh. “I guess that’s your way of saying I should wear this one, right?” She giggled, taking her clothes off and putting the dress on. She grabbed a pair of earing’s and a simple silver neckless and put them on. She glanced over at the digital clock in the corner of her room and it read 7:03pm.

“Ugh, where is he,” Maia muttered, grabbing her handbag and phone and stomping out to her living room. She sat on the couch and went on her phone until she heard a knock on her door. She opened the door and saw David standing there in a nice suit jacket. “Finally,” she breathed. She looked David up and down once again, taking him in. She was confused as to why he wasn’t speaking. She noticed his jaw dropped open, staring at her. “Like what you see?” She hinted, laughing.

“Yes… you look amazing,” David whispered. “Come on, we’re late,” he said as he took one last glance at her, then turned around and walked to his car.

Ten minutes into the drive, Maia looked down and saw David’s hand resting on her thigh. Goosebumps covered her skin as she realized he was touching her. She took a deep breath before placing her hand on his, and lacing her fingers with his. She glanced over at him driving and took in how beautiful he was. Every small detail about him was incredibly unique and gorgeous. Before long, David parked the car in the parking lot outside of a large Italian restaurant. Maia tore her eyes away from David, so he wouldn’t catch her looking at him. They walked into the restaurant together with space between the two of them. Maia wanted so badly to reach for his hand but she refrained herself from doing so. As soon as they walked in, they were greeted by Cierra and Jake.

“Maia! Girl you look hot!” Cierra giggled, pulling Maia into a tight hug.

“Thanks,” Maia said, taking a look at what Cierra was wearing. “Says you!”

“I know, right?” Cierra said, looking down at her outfit. It was a low-cut black top with a sparkly skirt, cut off mid-thigh. “Come on, slow pokes,” she directed at Jake and David who were chatting casually near the door. “Let’s go get our table.” Cierra walked with Maia to an exclusive room in the back of the restaurant which was secluded from everyone else. All four cast members took a seat and looked through the menu. Jake and Cierra were sitting beside each other, likewise David and Maia.

A few moments later the waitress arrived at their table, asking what they wanted. They each ordered different things, Maia going with pasta, David with steak, Jake with ribs and Cierra with chicken salad. “So, have you guys kissed yet?” Cierra asked Maia and David.

Maia almost spit out her drink and covered her mouth, surprised at Cierra’s question. She looked over at David and noticed his shocked face. “Um, we aren’t even dating,” David admitted, taking a drink of his beer to collect himself.

“Can I talk to you? In private?” Maia asked Cierra, standing up from the table and leading her outside their private room. “Are you drunk or something? David and I aren’t even dating, much less have kissed yet! I’m just starting to realize my feelings for him, so try to keep it on the down low, okay?” Maia pleaded, a hint of anger in her voice. Just as Cierra was about to reply, they heard a man clear his throat. Maia and Cierra’s heads whipped around to see who it was. The man was holding a rather large bouquet of roses and wearing a suit.

                “…Ramy?”
