(Alright, first off - we're forgetting the whole second part of this story, yeah? The reason for that is that this is indeed, my second to last chapter. If you follow my twitter [@MaiaMitcheli1] then you would, infact know this. [Their is a good chance you got a few teasers, too.] I chose to do this because I've known how I want this to end for quite some time now. Anyways, the more votes and comments will make me more motivated to update. I wont update unless I get 12 comments and 20 votes. Thank you guys for reading, and I promise, indeed, that the final chapter will make you sob. Just wait. -S)

Maia woke up to the bright Australian sun shining through her glass windows in her large bedroom. She stretched and yawned; welcoming the new day. She got out of her bed and looked out her window as the sun rose above the horizon. She tended to wake up earlier when she was home; even if it was a weekend. As she looked towards the sky, she silently praised herself for making it another day without him.

She noted how the water was mostly calm; with only tiny waves crashing against the shore. She loved watching the water; she could do just that for hours. She stood there, remembering how much she loved to live in a smaller, more peaceful area than living in California. After the sun had risen to the point her room was fully bright, she decided to put on some clothes, eat some food and head down to the beach.

She looked through her closet and chose to wear a plain black tank top and spandex shorts. After she put them on, she put her hair up into a bun and went out of her room quietly. Her whole family was sleeping and she did not want to wake them; so she decided on having toast instead of making something that would be loud.

Five minutes after she ate, she grabbed her sunglasses and walked out of her back door. She walked slowly onto the warm sand, progressing to the normal area in which she sits. As she began to get closer; she noticed a man sitting with his feet in the water. She slowly approached him. As she crept closer, she noticed he was very familiar.

“Emerson?” she spoke. The man turned around and looked up at her; a brilliant smile of recognition on his face.

“Maia,” he started. “I heard something about you coming back to Australia. Told ‘em I wouldn’t believe it unless I saw you myself.” He stood up and wrapped his arms around her, bringing her close to him.

“Well, now you see me!” She exclaimed to him as she wrapped her arms around his neck; hugging him tightly.

Emerson was one of Maia’s closest childhood friends.  They became friends during grade two when the teacher asked for them to find a partner. From that age until Maia left for America; they were practically inseparable. Maia always figured Emerson had a slight crush on her, as he never dated any girls and constantly tried to hold her hand when they would takes walks on the beach during high school. She always considered him her brother, all 5’8 feet of him. But now, he was at least 6’4 and was very, very built.

She pulled away lightly and smiled up at him. ''I missed you a ton,” she admitted.

'               ''I missed you, too,” he told her before sitting back down in the sand. Maia sat beside him and looked out onto the water. “We should throw you a welcome home party,” he offered.

“Oh yeah, and who would come?” she questioned, looking at him.

“I will invite everyone from our old school, it’ll be a blast,” Emerson suggested.
