(A/N - As you would know if you follow my twitter (MaiaMitchell1), I've decided to split my story up into two or three parts. This will be the last chapter of part 1. You guys should consider yourself lucky because I was contimplating this being the last chapter of the entire fan fiction. Don't forget to vote and comment as the amount of reads/votes/comments influence how quickly or how slowly I update. Thank you -S)
Maia pulled into the LAX airport at approximately two PM on a beautiful bright Sunday afternoon. She parked in the far back of the lot, unaware as to how long her car would be here. She made a mental note to ask Cierra to pick up her car and drive it to her house so it wouldn’t get towed. She walked out of her car and grabbed her suitcase along with her carry-on bag and purse and shut her trunk. She walked over to the airport shuttle waiting area to wait for a car to drive her to the right terminal. After twenty or so minutes of waiting she finally got in one of the cars. She sat silently with a couple other people who looked like they we’re going on vacation. Once they got to her terminal, she was the first to get off the car. She grabbed her stuff and slowly walked into the airport. She glanced down at her phone to see if she had got a message from David yet. Nothing.
She continued on and got into the first line where she would get her ticket checked and give her large luggage so they could pack it onto the plane once it arrived. After doing so, she walked over to security. It was a huge line with at least two-hundred people; causing her to sigh. She pulled out her phone again to check for messages and there was none. She decided to turn on her data and scroll through various social media platforms to make the time go quicker. She had various mentions from fans on Twitter so she decided to finally reply to some of them. Ultimately, she found it quite crazy that there were fan accounts dedicated to her on both Twitter and Instagram.
Finally, she was next in the security line. She placed all of her things in the bucket provided and stepped through the scanner. Before her bucket went through its own scanner, she saw her phone light up. A jolt of hope rushed through her body as she though it may be a text from David. She needed to know he got her letter and what he thought of it.
Despite her going back to Australia, she didn’t really want to leave David. There was just something special about him that she wasn’t ready to let go of. However, with the events that took place last night, she figured he wouldn’t want anything to do with her again. Her face flushed as she thought of how embarrassing it must have been. With the amount of alcohol she consumed she couldn’t remember the exact details of what played out. She did, however, remember throwing herself at David and him saying some cruel things to her.
Maia felt a pang of regret for even drinking. She’s told herself before that drinking only causes harm to her and the people around her. As it turns out, her thoughts were true. Trying to distract herself from the terrible end of what they had, she tried to think of a positive time they had together. As she walked around the airport to find a place to eat, she let herself reminisce about the time she and David got fooled by Bradley and the cast. She remembered how scared she was that she and David wouldn’t be able to be together. That was pretty much her worst nightmare. But now it’s coming true, she thought to herself. She held onto the thought for a few moments, reflecting on it. Once she’s gone, her and David would be over. Silently, Maia hoped he would text her or call her, or do something that would convince her to stay.
Maia walked by what looked like a small casual restaurant and decided to go in; she was starving. She sat by a table with a window that looked out to the area in which planes waited to be boarded.
