(A/N - I'm sorry. This had to be done. It is sad. The next few chapters, up until the end of my story will be fairly sad. I had to rush this but I hope its not too bad. Please remember to vote & please comment what you think. Ily. -S)

Maia’s jaw dropped and her face turned pale as soon as she heard the words come from Bradley’s mouth. Both her and David were stunned and had no clue what to say. They both were speechless.

“Come to set right away. I’ve only told a couple of the cast members and need to give the announcement to the rest. Sorry about the news,” Bradley said before he hung up the phone. Maia closed her phone and slid it into her pocket.

“Uh, Mom, David and I need to go to set right now. I’m sorry,” Maia apologized. She grabbed David’s hand and started walking towards his car before her Mother could reply. Tears began to form in her eyes but she tried her hardest to push them away. She took deep breathes as she tried to focus on something happy to distract her. The first thing that popped into her head was The Fosters. That show was such a huge part of her life and she wasn’t ready to let go to it yet. She has met so many people who’ve impacted her life in such a positive way and she was going to miss them dearly.

Maia opened the passenger door to David’s car and hurried in before buckling her seatbelt. “Please drive quickly,” Maia whispered. As she spoke her voice cracked a tear slipped out of her eye. She quickly wiped it away with her sweater but the tears kept coming. She tried to muffle her cries with her sweatshirt but it was no use.

“I know it’s really sad babe, but please don’t cry. I hate when you cry,” David admitted. His voice sounded weak as if he had been holding in tears, too. Maia swallowed before using a Kleenex to wipe the makeup off from under her eyes. She took more deep breathes to control herself and stop crying.

Moments later, they arrived on set. Maia sat in the car for a moment before getting out. She let herself momentarily think that this may be the last time she is on this set. To keep herself from crying again she quickly got out of the car. She walked over to David and linked her hand with his. Maia’s eyes were red and puffy when she walked into the main sound stage of their set. It looked like all of the cast and crew were already there, waiting on them. Maia walked up to the group of people she’s grown to love and stood at the back of the room, leaning against the wall.

“So, we have some unfortunate news. The Fosters has been cancelled by ABC Family,” Bradley explained. Nearly everyone in the room let out collective gasps. She could see Cierra already starting to cry. Maia squeezed David’s hand and rested her head upon his shoulder. “We’ve decided we’re going to have a party on set. It’s an adult party but Jules and Michelle have offered to take the cast that’s eighteen and younger to go out for a nice dinner and then bowling. We’re really sorry this had to happen. The party is set to take place in about two hours so feel free to be here any time after that.”

After Bradley’s message people started to leave. Maia walked over to Cierra to comfort her. “I can’t believe this happened,” Cierra said between sobs.

“I know, I know,” Maia said. She hugged Cierra tightly and played with her hair lightly. “I’ll miss you, miss thing.”

“I’ll miss you, too,” Cierra got out before crying violently into Maia’s shirt.

“Try to calm down, alright? I’ve got to go home to sort some stuff out. I’ll see you at the party, okay?” Maia asked before kissing Cierra on the head. She would miss her best friend. Maia said goodbye to a few others before asking David to drive her home.
