I woke up feeling exhausted from the day before. It felt like one day had changed everything, I felt very different. I got up from my bed and looked at the time. I had made sure to set the clock very early, so I wouldn't be late on my second day also.

I went downstairs and said good morning to my mom, gave her a quick kiss on the cheek, ate my breakfast and went up into my room to get ready. Some things were still the same.

I put on one of my usual white shirts and a pair of black jeans. I turned around facing the mirror and as I looked at myself, I felt... boring. I grabbed my hair gel and tried to tame my messy hair. I ran my fingers through my hair and tried to style it into a quiff, and it actually turned out pretty good, in my opinion.

I went through my closet and found an old leather jacket I got from my uncle. I put it on and took my shirt out of my pants.

As I looked at myself I felt completely different, it was like I had gained a lot more confidence. I thought about leaving my glasses at home, but I really needed them. It had been hard on my eyes to not wear them for a whole day.

I grabbed my bag and went downstairs again. I yelled goodbye to my mom and was almost out the door when I heard her call my name. I turned around to find her staring at me.

"You're going to school in that outfit?" she asked. I understood her confusion. I never wore these kinds of clothes.

"Mom this is how all the kids at the school dress. I just wanted a more relaxed look to fit in" I said trying to defend my choice of clothes to my mother, even though I was an 18-year-old guy.

"I know, it's just...so different from what you usually wear honey"

I didn't really change that much, except the hair and the jacket. But for me that was a big step, I swear I had dressed the same since I was 13.

"I know mom, I just feel different. So, I wanted to look different" I answered and gave her a reassuring smile.

"Alright, alright, have a good day then" she finally caved and kissed me goodbye.

I got in my car and started driving to the school. Thankfully it was just a 10-minute drive. I was excited for my second day. I was probably going to see Sam and the guys again, but I kept wondering if I was going to see Becca.

To my surprise I quickly found my way to the physics class room. I was excited for this class. It was one of the classes I had always gotten the best grades in.

I walked in the room and stood in the doorway searching for an empty chair I could sit in, and that's when I noticed the familiar blue hair. I smiled when I saw her sitting in her own little world, drawing in a brown notebook. She looked up and her eyes quickly met mine. She smiled at me and I felt a tiny spark in my stomach.

I walked over and sat down next to her. We smiled at each other while I laid my books out on the black table.

"You seriously decided to wear a white shirt to physics class too?" she suddenly asked me, and I could hear a smile in her voice.

"Yeah, I make smart choices like that" I chuckled and looked at her.

She chuckled lightly and looked back down at her notebook. I couldn't help but keep looking at her. She looked really pretty today.

She was wearing a tight maroon colored dress with short sleeves, which brought attention to her tattoos. I hadn't really gotten a good look at them until now. She had a daisy tattooed on her right upper arm and on her left under arm she had a picture of Calvin and Hobbes sitting under a tree, with the text "Maybe it will make sense when we grow up" above it tattooed. On her right hand she had a happy smiley on her pointer finger and a sad smiley on her middle. Also, on her right arm she had a quote on her wrist saying "We'll carry on..." I didn't understand what I meant, perhaps it was from a song?

I noticed that on her left ankle she had a colorful butterfly, and on the back of her neck she had a line of Chinese symbols. I wondered what they meant. My favorite tattoo was the daisy though, I thought it was beautiful.

Did I just think that about a tattoo? I had never liked tattoos, but on Becca they somehow looked beautiful. They looked like art on her.

She was wearing her blue hair in a messy bun, so you could really see her face. I couldn't help but admire her as she focused hard on writing in her notebook while biting her lip slightly. Why did this girl attract me this much? She was definitely not the type of girl I was usually attracted by.

My staring like a creep at her quickly got interrupted when the teacher walked in and yelled "Good morning!" at all of us.

Becca packed her notebook away and turned her attention to the teacher too. I was kind of curious about what was in her notebook.

The teacher started talking about all kinds of practical things, then he started to talk about a physics project that would start today and that we would have 4 weeks to make it, paired up in groups of two and two.

Everyone's eyes and ears were on the teacher when he announced that. Everyone wanted to know who they were going to be paired with.

"So, look at the person sitting next to you, cause that's the person you'll be paired with for the next 4 weeks" the teacher said.

I looked to my left and discovered Becca's eyes was already on me. A lot of "Yay's" and "Ugh's" filled the room, but me and Becca just smiled at each other.

"So, I guess we're partners then" I said.

"I guess we are" she said with a smile. "I hope you're good at physics, because if not then I can assure you we're going to fail" she continued with a nervous laugh.

"Well physics is one of my strong classes, so don't worry, I'll help you" I said and smiled at her.

"Great" she said and smiled back at me.
