"Blake! Honey your dad and I..." my mom's voice suddenly filled my room and I lifted my head from Becca to see her, frozen in the middle of my room, starring directly at me and Becca. This could not be happening.
I stood up from my bed as fast as I could and looked over at Becca who tried to cover herself with her arms, though it did not help at all.
"Who's this?" my mom said in a tone I had never heard before. She was more than pissed, I could tell. "Uhm, mom this is Becca" I said. Becca smiled awkwardly at my mom.
"Uh, we were just studying" I tried to explain, all though I knew this wasn't ending well no matter what I did. "It didn't look like studying" my mom said in a calm voice, that kind of scared me.
"Yeah, no... we just-" I fumbled with my words, but my mom cut me off quickly. "I want her out of my house Blake" my mom said, and I frowned at her. How could she speak like Becca wasn't even a person, sitting in front of her?
"You can't just kick her out like that, she's my guest" I challenged my mom. I had never done that before. I could see in her eyes that it did not please her at all. "Out. Now!" my mom said, this time raising her voice a bit. She didn't even look at Becca, she just kept staring at me.
"You can't-" I tried to speak, but Becca cut me off this time. "I think It's best if I just leave" she said and got up from my bed. She threw on her shirt quickly and grabbed her bag from the floor.
She hurried across my room and when she passed my mom, she uttered a soft "I'm sorry" to her, but my mom ignored her completely. Becca quickly disappeared from my room and I was left with my mother, crossing her arms and staring directly at me. I didn't say anything to her. I knew that I hadn't done anything wrong. I was 18, I could decide for myself what I wanted to do.
My mom opened her mouth to speak but I hurried past her and out of my room, trying to catch Becca before she was out the door. She had the front door half open when I ran down the stairs, yelling her name.
"Becca, wait!" I shuffled over to her. She turned around in the doorway and looked at me. "I'm so sorry about this, they said they wouldn't be home until late" I said in a quiet voice, making sure my mom didn't hear me. "It's okay, it's not your fault. I'll talk to you tomorrow okay?" she said and looked me in the eyes.
I laid my hand on her cheek and nodded. When we both heard my mother's footsteps down the stairs, she quickly shut the door behind her and I turned around, ready to face whatever trouble was going to come my way.
"Mom, please listen" I said, but again she cut me off.
"When your father gets home, we'll have a talk about this" she said and pointed her finger at me. She turned around and walked into the kitchen while shaking her head in disappointment. I could almost see smoke coming out of her ears.
I almost went after her to try to get a chance at explaining all of this, but I decided against it. No matter what I said or did right now, it wouldn't help or change her mind about Becca at all. I went up to my room and shut the door with a loud bang.
I didn't care if I was acting like the typical pissed off teenager right now, I had a right to be mad at my mom. Somehow, I was so lucky to meet this amazing girl, who made me feel things I had never felt before, and I was even luckier that she actually liked me back. I was so mad about the fact that our moment had been ruined, but I was even more mad that she had just kicked Becca out like she was nothing, like she was just trash.
I hit the door behind me with my fist and let out a breath. I hoped this wasn't going to ruin things with Becca, I was not ready to lose her already. I couldn't.
