When we both calmed down after a while we just sat and looked at each other. The wind was blowing lightly, making Becca hug her arms around herself.
"I really like you Becca" I said. I didn't even know why I said it, it just came out of me, but somehow, I didn't care. Was this the alcohol or me?
She chuckled and put her arms down, resting her hands in her lab. A part of me wanted to reach over and put mine on top of hers.
"I like you too Blake. You're not as bad as I thought" she said.
"Wait, you thought bad of me?" I asked, trying to act offended.
"No! I just... I don't know. I didn't think you would be someone I would hang out with when I first met you" she said with a laugh.
"Wh-Why?" I asked and chuckled.
"I don't know! You just seemed really nerdy and boring I guess"
"Oh thanks" I said and crossed my arms.
"No, no, not like that" she said and laid her hand on top of mine.
"I don't think that anymore. I think you're really cool" she said with a smile. She looked so beautiful when she smiled like that.
"I can't believe you thought I was boring" I said and laughed.
"I think it was the white button up shirt" she said with a teasing smile.
"What is it with you and my shirts?" I asked and poked her in the side of her stomach.
"Stop! That tickles!" she laughed as I kept poking her. She laughed even harder and at the end she almost couldn't breathe.
"Blake! Blake! Stop, stop!" she yelled and tried to push me away. I stopped and looked her in the eyes as she caught her breath.
We sat really close to each other, way to close. So close that I considered just leaning in and kissing her. I wanted to so bad, but again before I could, she spoke.
"Well, it's really late. I should probably get home" she said and shifted away from me.
"Yeah. What time is it?" I asked. She looked at her phone. "01:53" she said.
"Crap. My parents are going to kill me" I said running a hand through my hair. She gave me a questioning look.
"I promised them I would be home by midnight" I explained.
"Oh yeah, they're going to kill you. It was nice knowing you" she said trying to lighten the mood.
I gave her a look, and she nudged me in the stomach. We both got up and walked back to my car.
"I probably shouldn't drive" I said. I was way too drunk to drive.
"You're right, you shouldn't. I'll drive you home" Becca said and took the keys out of my hand.
"No wait, you had just as much to drink as me" I said.
"Yeah, but I'm used to it. This was basically your first time drinking" she said and unlocked the car. I'm pretty sure it was because of the fact that my head was spinning and my insides were bubbling, butsomehow her words convinced me. I got in the car as Becca got in the driver's seat.
"Wow" Becca whispered to herself as she studied the different options and buttons in the car. "Fancy" she raised her eyebrows, as she pushed the button on the left side to start.
I chuckled, I did have a very nice car. My parents had given it to me on my 16thbirthday. Ihadn't even wished for a car. I guess it was one of the perks of having rich parents, but sometimes I wish they would just give me things like socks or hair gel. Stuff that didn't scream "I am rich" to everyone.
Becca drove the short ride back to my house and I couldn't help but watch her the whole time. I felt drawn to her all the time. I couldn't take my eyes off her, and I didn't want to.
"Thanks for the ride" I said with a smirk as we both stood in the driveway at my house.
"You're welcome, I hope your parents don't kill you. I just got to know you, I don't want to lose you this soon" she said and poked my stomach.
"Thanks" I laughed and poked her back.
"Wait, how are you going to get home?" I asked, a sense of worry washing over me.
"I'm just going to walk, it's not more than 15 minutes away I think" she said and put her hands in her pockets.
"Are you sure that's safe? I mean what if something happens?" I asked looking around the dark streets.
"Do you even know this town? Nothing ever happens" she said and chuckled. I smiled at her. I stepped a bit closer to her still debating whether I should kiss her or not, but Becca decided for me.
"Well, I'll see you Blake" she said and took a step backwards.
"Right, yeah. I'll see you" we smiled at each other one last time before she turned around to walk away.
"Oh! Uhm, just please text me when you get home, so I know you're okay!" I yelled to her across the street.
"Alright. Goodnight Blake!" she yelled back and waved.
I waved back and with that she was gone, into the darkness. I looked back at my house and took a deep breath. I was praying my parents wouldn't be up, but I was almost sure that they were.
I opened the door with my key as lightly as I could, really hoping that they somehow wouldn't hear me.
When I walked in, I saw the light in the living room was on, and soon I was met with two very angry parents. I opened my mouth to speak, but they both interrupted me at the same time.
"Where the hell have you been?!" "We said midnight son! It's two hours past that!" they yelled at me and I swear I was on the edge of laughing at them. They were so worried about me all the time, for nothing.
"I know, I'm sorry! We just had so much fun at Sam's party that I totally forgot about time" I was impressed with myself that I was able to lie even though I was still kind of drunk.
My dad sighed deeply. They both looked pretty tired, they probably waited up for me. I felt kind of guilty.
"Just please go to bed, we'll discuss this in the morning" my dad said and pointed me to the stairs. I didn't say another word. I just obeyed and went to my room.
I took of my jacket, my glasses and shoes and fell onto my bed. I was exhausted.
I quickly grabbed my phone from my jacket. I was not falling asleep until Becca texted me. I laid for a few minutes starring at my ceiling just thinking about her beautiful self. Was I falling for this girl?
I suddenly felt the light vibration of my phone and a smile formed on my face as I saw Becca's name on my screen.
