"Hello?" her voice said, and I smiled like an idiot.

"Becca! Hey!" I yelled and laughed.

"Blake? What's up?" she said. The sound of her voice went right to my stomach and made butterflies fly around like crazy.

"What are you doing right now?" I asked her.

"Not much... why? Aren't you supposed to be at a party right now?" Becca asked and chuckled lightly, probably because of my half-drunken voice.

"Yeah, but it's kind of lame" I said and looked back at the big house. I thought it was about to fly off the ground because of how loud the music playing.

"That's too bad" Becca said.

"I really want to see you right now. Can we meet?" I said without even realizing what I was doing. My heart stopped beating when silence fell over her.

"Yeah sure, got nothing to do anyway. Where are you?" she said suddenly, and a relieved smile formed on my face.

"I'm outside Sam's house, but I don't want to hang out here" I answered.

"Why don't you meet me at the harbor, where we hung out last?" Becca said, and I looked at the time. It wasn't late, it was only 23:13 pm. I knew my parents were going to kill me for not being home before midnight, but right now all I could care about was seeing Becca.

"Sure, do you want me to pick you up?" I asked, knowing she only lived about 15 minutes away from there.

"No, it's fine. See you soon Blake" she said and hung up. I stood and smiled like an idiot down at my phone. My heart was beating fast in my chest when I got in my car and drove towards the harbor

***

I got out of my car and walked down to the small bench by the water where me and Becca had sat last. I looked around checking if she was already here, but there was no sign of people anywhere. It was a quiet and peaceful night. The light from the store signs on the street lit up the dark water a bit, making it sparkle. I sighed and sat down on the cold bench. I was still dizzy from the beers I had drank. Alcohol was not my thing.

I sat alone listening to the small waves slapping against the boats for about 10 minutes before I suddenly heard a sweet familiar voice behind me. I turned around and saw Becca walking towards me. I smiled at her, she looked so beautiful.

She was wearing all black with a jean jacket and her blue hair in a bun. Very simple but man, she was gorgeous.

"Hey" I said as she walked over and sat down next to me.

"So, lame party huh?" she said and looked out on the dark water.

"Well, Ithought it was lame. I don't think parties are my thing" I said and looked at the water too.

"And yet you got drunk?" Becca said and looked at me with a smirk.

"I am not drunk!" I stated and pointed my finger at her.

"I don't believe you" she said and pointed her finger back at me.

I laughed while crossing my arms and looked back at the water. I was not drunk, maybe a bit tipsy. Maybe a lot. I wasn't used to alcohol.

"Well I don't want you to be drunk alone, so let's go get a drink" Becca said and stood up.

"What?" I asked in confusion. Maybe she was joking?

"Come on" she said and started to walk along the shore. I stood up from the bench and caught up to her. We walked in silence for a bit beside each other, our shoulders lightly touching now and then.

"So, what have you been doing today?" I asked her, to try to break the silence.

"Not much. I've just been painting and listening to music" Becca said and shrugged.

"Sounds nice" I said and put my hands in my pockets.

"What kind of music do you like?" I asked

"All kinds, I guess. I listen to a lot of bands" she answered.

"What about you?" she asked looking up at me.

"Well, I guess I just listen to whatever is on the radio at the moment" I answered her.

She half smiled and looked down at her feet. I couldn't help but think she almost looked a little disappointed.

"We're here" Becca suddenly said as we stopped in front of an old looking grocery store.

We went in and Becca lead us to the back of the store where they had a big row of different alcohol.

"What are we doing here?" I said as she went around and looked at different kinds of bottles.

"I'm getting us something to drink" she said and took out a bottle with a red lid.

"Is vodka okay?" she asked and looked at me. I had no clue about any of this.

"Uh, I've never really tasted it" I said and felt kind of embarrassed.

"Well, it would be my honor to experience your first time" Becca said and smiled.

We both looked at each other when we realized what she had said could be misinterpreted badly and we instantly broke out laughing.Becca grabbed the vodka bottle and started to walk towards the exit.

"Wait, aren't you going to pay for that?" I asked her with a confused look.

She looked between me and the cashier behind the counter for a second and then went over to me. She walked very close to me and suddenly I felt her hand inside my jacket.

"What are you doing?" my breath almost hitched when I looked her in the eyes.

"Hold your jacket over the bottle, make sure he doesn't see it" Becca said and let go of the bottle. I held onto it under my jacket and felt my heart beating faster.

"Wait - No, we can't do that Becca, that's stealing" I whispered to her, like it wasn't obvious.

"Relax, he's not going to find out. Just act normal" she said giving the cashier a glance.

"No, no I'm not doing that" I half whispered. Becca walked closer to me.

"Come on, live a little" she said with a carefree tone. I looked over at the guy at the counter, who was busy reading his newspaper, and then back to Becca.

I took a breath and grabbed Becca's hand, still holding onto the bottle with the other. A wave of courage washed over me, and I walked us both out of the store trying to look as normal as I could. We came outside and just as I was about to let out the breath I was holding, we heard the guy yell after us.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing?!"

"Shit!" Becca yelled and began running, grabbing my hand harder.

We both ran as fast as we could, around corners and down the small streets. After a while we stopped to catch our breath. I looked back to see if he was following us, but there was no sign of anyone. Maybe he didn't run after us at all.

I looked at Becca who suddenly broke out in laughter. I couldn't help but laugh too.

"What just happened?" I said trying to catch my breath.

"I don't know, but hey, we got the liquor" she said and took the bottle from my hand.

"Come on, let's go back" she said and started walking.

"To the bench? Are you sure that's safe?" I asked her.

"Yeah, I don't think he's going to come looking for us" she said.

I chuckled and walked with her. I looked behind us once again, just to make sure.
