When it was finally my turn in the line at the cafeteria, I started to really feel how hungry I was. I took one glance at the food and my stomach started to sound like a dying whale. I quickly took some of the salad, and the pasta. I got in front of the meat sauce and was about to put some of it on my plate when someone stopped me by grabbing my arm.
"Dude, I wouldn't touch any of that if I was you" I heard a voice say.
I looked to my right and saw a guy looking directly at me. I was about to ask him what he meant, but he started to explain as soon as I looked at him.
"Sally, the lunch lady, makes that and she never wears a hairnet. I can't tell you how many people find curly nasty-ass brown hair in their sauce" he said with a laugh.
I was disgusted at the thought and quickly withdrew from the meat sauc. I stepped to the left to get some bread instead.
"Thanks for the warning" I said to the guy.
"You're welcome. I can tell you're new here. You always got to help the newbies right" he said and nudged me in the side with his elbow.
I half smiled at him and looked around the big lunchroom wondering where I was going to sit. My mind quickly drifted to Becca. I wondered if she was here, maybe I could sit with her. She was the only friend I had made so far. I wasn't even sure if we were friends, we had only had one conversation. She was not the type I would usually be friends with, but she was sweet, and I liked her. But was she my friend?
"What's your name?" I heard the guy ask and I realized he was still beside me.
"Uh, Blake" I said looking at him.
"Blake, no need to worry, you're sitting with us" he said and began to walk.
I hesitated a bit but decided to follow him as he led me to a big table in the middle of the room. It was filled with a lot of guys being loud, and some giggling girls. He sat down in front of two guys who I quickly discovered were twins, they looked like a reflection of each other. Everyone's attention was somehow quickly transferred to me and the guy who brought me here.
"This is Alex and Troye. As you can see they're twins" the guy, who I still didn't know the name, of said.
I greeted the twins and they both smiled at me.
"That's Max, that's Pete and that's Dickface" he said pointing to a couple brown haired guys and a blonde one.
"Shut up Sam!" the blonde guy yelled and made them all laugh.
"I'm Daniel" the blonde guy said and smiled at me. I smiled back at him.
"Guys, this is Blake. He's a newbie so behave yourselves!" the guy, who I guess was Sam, said to them all and they chuckled.
"Yeah you're one to talk" I heard one of the twins say to him as I sat down beside him.
He smirked at them and turned his attention to me.
"By the way, I'm Sam" he said and put a hand on my shoulder, while shaking my hand with the other.
I gave him a smile and we both began eating our food next to each other.
The guys soon started to talk loudly again, this time about some game that I knew nothing about. I sat quietly eating my food listening to them talk. I quickly lost my focus when a certain blue haired girl walked over to a table by the window not far from where we were sitting.
She sat down at an empty table and started eating. I couldn't help but stare at her. The sun shined directly at her making her silhouette look perfect. I was so curios about this girl. Why did she look so sad? And why was nobody sitting with her?
