It was a slow phase of time when Luke hugged me as I hug him back. I didn’t expect I’ll see him here I was feeling happy when we see each other because I know I’ll have information about Michael and it’s all I want, making myself ready to see him since I’m planning to leave after this semester. I glance at George of course I haven’t forgotten that I was with him. I pull away to Luke and he stands there, we need to talk I got back to the seat where George and I seated.
“Can I excuse myself for a minute? I have to talk to him.” I said.
George nods I smiled at him and I went back where Luke stands.
Luke walks outside and I follow him we still didn’t leave the tea place we stayed where George and I talked. Luke stared at me like I did a bad thing, he bites his lip as he walk around and trying to start a conversation.
“So how are you?” Luke asked and stops walking around then rest his back on the corner.
“I’m good aren’t you supposed to be in England? That’s what I remember.” I chuckled.
“Did he told you that?”
I gulped.
“Yeah..” I whispered.
“What happened back there? I got worried when he called me.” Luke said as he fix his hair looking at the glass.
“He didn’t tell you the reason?” I gripped.
“No, he told me you broke up with him because it’s complicated and bizarre.”
“We-It’s just, I don’t know how to start.” I murmur.
“You dating that guy?” He raises his eyebrow.
“No, we’re just friends. We went for a snack..” He doesn’t believe me.
“Really? In this place.. You got some friend.”
“What are you really doing here Luke?” I questioned out of confusion.
“Well yeah, I live in Leeds but I decided to stay here in London for a while. I was just going to meet my grandma here but dad called me that she cancelled the plan..” He explained.
“Oh..”
“I don’t want to take over for today Lai, here’s my number we still have more things to talk about.” He said and that hits me inside.
“What do you mean by that Luke? Do you still have a contact with him?” I was in a bit of panicking.
“Yeah but listen, it’s kinda bit complicated and this isn’t the right time and place to talk and we have schedules today. Text me okay? So I can call you when I’m not busy around.” Luke said as he place his hands on my shoulders.
“Thank you Luke, I’m really happy I see you here.” I cried as he pull me into a hug.
“Sure Lai, if Michael was here. He’ll rain me punches on my face right now because I’m hugging you.” He laughed.
I burst into tears as I remember Michael’s jealousy towards to guys getting close to me though it only happened around his friends and mine. I gave Luke a soft smile, then George went out as well and looked at us.
“Is everything alright?” George said, as I can see he was bothered and look concerned.
“Yeah man, sorry. It’s just we’re really good friends it’s been a long ass year.” Luke said as he pat George’s back.
I look to both of them and smile at Luke and wave goodbye as he leave. I know Luke and I aren’t that close but he’s still friendly to me I guess he forgot the past how he cheated to Jen with my best friend and Jen cheated with his best friend and my best friend cheated with my ex-boyfriend. Gosh, this love cycle is outrageous. I miss all of them back home I pity myself.
