Lai stands up and stared at me I still continue to sing and our eyes were still connected. As we look on each other her tears stream down on her face then she turn around and walk out of the club, I feel the rush on my body. I stopped singing and hand my guitar to Rix he was standing on the side of the stage. When I walk down to the stage her British friend grab my arm before I could run through the door.
“Don’t make her upset she had enough.” He said.
“I don’t need your opinion.” I said to him and shove my arm, I quickly run through the door.
As I got out of the club I can’t see Lai I keep on looking around shouting ‘Lai, please talk to me! Where are you? Lai, please!’ I cried out. I keep on walking around the club and on the streets then I finally saw her. She was sitting on the bench near the bus stop, she was sobbing. My heart almost fell I can’t believe that I’ll see her like that, this is my fault.
I thought I’m doing the right thing and waiting for the right time to be with her but I was wrong it’s getting worse, every day, every second that I just done nothing. She’s hugging herself and still crying I want to punch myself for being such an idiot. I walk forward, sit with her and hug her. I put my arms on her shoulders and let her head rest on my chest I wrap my arms tightly on her.
“Lai, I’m so sorry.” I whispered.
She pulled away and wiped the tears on her face. We stared again.
“D-did you write that song?” Lai asked.
“Yes, I did I thought I won’t see you again and if I did, what if we’re just totally strangers? I mean I don’t want to.. I was just scared that you might forget about me because of the past that happened to us, to our family. I was scared.” I explained.
“I was scared too Mike..” She whispered.
I chuckled.
“What?” She asked and raised her right eyebrow.
“I miss you calling me Mike, the last person who said that to me was Luke.” I said.
“It doesn’t mean we’re okay.”
I looked on Lai her eyes gets swollen that quick, I rub my left thumb on her left cheek and I kissed her forehead. I stand up and took a heavy breathe.
“Let’s go somewhere, we really need to talk and I have to explain things to you. I can’t just give up on you now. I know you came here to see me and I don’t want to waste that. I always love you Alaissa, Lai I never stop.” I said and I quickly grab her hand and run back to the club.
As we got to the parking lot I saw my motorcycle, my black Ducati.
“You still have that?” Lai asked me with surprise.
“Yeah, it cost me a lot to ship it here but worth it..”
Then I ride my motorcycle and start the engine, I stole an orange helmet hanging on the other motorcycles parked on the side and Lai just stared at me.
“Come on Lai, it will be like the old times.” I said.
“I can’t, Michael.. George is waiting for me inside. We can meet tomorrow I can’t leave him there. I’m alright now I already let it out.”
“So he’s name is George? Lai, he’s a big boy he knows how to take a cab and get back to your hotel or whatever place he’s staying at.” He begs.
Lai just took a deep sighed and ride on my back and wear the orange helmet.
