Isabella's POV
Like I said earlier, everything goes back to normal. Aiden and I decided on baking both of the cake pops, giving the professors a choice. They loved both and we got a ninety-six on the whole project. Many students got below an eighty, you have no idea how proud I feel. Other than that, it's been class, soccer, sleep, and repeat.
It's now the twentieth of November. I'm on the small Thanksgiving break they give. I'm in my room, and I'm about to call everybody to let them know the plan. "Hey Ma, I can't make it to California for Thanksgiving, but I do have a solution." She lets out a long breath. "What is it?" My smile widens. "Do you remember Aiden?" She laughs. "Oh of course," I blush. "He suggested, you, Abuela, and Kyle can come out here, we eat dinner at his place, then you guys can sleep in a hotel." She lets out a happy laugh. "Oh thank god, I thought we weren't going to see you. Well, I was going to make it a surprise, but since you can't come, your brother is coming for Thanksgiving." I swear my heart stopped. "Oh my god, is he really?!" She laughs. "Yes, and he's bringing his wife and kid." I get to see my nephew! I've only met him a few times. He has to be ten maybe eleven now.
I let out a squeal. She laughs. "I cannot wait to see you guys, I'm about to let Kyle know. Get packed, I'll pay for your tickets, and we'll find you guys a good hotel. Kyle can probably sleep in the dorm with me, I have an extra bed." "Okay, keep in touch, I love you." I smile. "I love you too."
She hangs up and I call Kyle. I let him know everything, and he happily accepts. He says he'll just stay with a friend he has out here. It works for me. I hang up and call Aiden.
"How does an extra three guests sound?" He laughs, I can imagine him shaking his head. "It'll be tight, but people can eat on the balcony or at the island if needed. Who's the extra three?" My smile widens. "My brother and his family." He laughs. "So I finally get to meet him?" "Yes!" He laughs one last time. "Okay. Order their tickets, and then come over please, we need to go shopping, and start the turkey, and get ready to make a bunch of food soon." "Okay." Then I hang up.
I get on the computer, ordering six tickets from LAX, California, to Columbia Country Airport, New York. I send them to Kyle. He gets them, saying thank you, and I head over to Aiden's.
As I take the journey to his house, my smile grows as I realize I'll be seeing all my family, Aiden, and his family in one place eating dinner together. It's going to be so exciting. I just hope everyone gets along, and this goes well.
I go up the stairs and knock on the familiar door. He opens it smiling, then before I can walk in, he comes out and pulls my wrist to his car. We get in, then drive to the store. He fidgets the entire time and I look at him weirdly. "What's up?" I ask. He snaps his head toward me. "Nothing!" He says way to quickly. An evil smile appears on my lips and he sees it. "Seriously, I'm great." I nod, easing his nerves. I won't drop this though, I'll continue to bother him until he tells me. We hum to the song then pull into the parking lot.
He gets a cart, then I follow behind like a kid because he was so tall, it looked like I was a kid. I laugh then run up to the side of the cart. I stop it, and he looks down at me impatiently. "Let's go Munchkin, we have stuff to do." I nod then climb into the basket of the cart. He looks at me with a look I couldn't decipher. I smile innocently then he shakes his head and starts pushing the cart into the store. I grab my phone and open the list I created earlier. "Eighteen-pound turkey," He nods turning into the meat aisle. He drops it next to me, and I sigh, because I'd have to get out soon. "Potatoes, Hawaiian rolls, stuffing, and noodles," He gets those, and I climb out of the cart. He sets them next to the turkey. "Cheese, cream cheese, milk, condensed milk, onions, sweet potatoes, walnuts, brown sugar, butter, cranberry sauce," He blows out a breath. "Okay slow down speedy," I laugh and wait for him to get the stuff I said. He gets it, and I finish off the long list.
