CHAPTER 39 – THE TRUE HIM

“Oh my what happened to your eyes? And your lips? Parang kinagat ka ng halimaw!” that’s Lizzete she’s now hysterically worried on my face.

Natapos na rin kaming mag-tour and were back again here in the front beach. Ngayon lang nila napansin ang nangyari sa mukha ko, after what jarke did to me in the yacht nagsuot na lang ako ng shades and hide my lips the whole charade para hindi na magkagulo sa loob knowing Greg hindi ‘to magdadalawang isip na sugurin si Jarke. And speaking of Jarke I don’t know where he headed now.

“Did he do that?” maawtoridad na tanong ni Greg he too was now hysterically mad on jarke. Hindi ako kumibo at tumungo na lang to avoid their negogiating gaze.

“Tell me did he do that?!” and now I can say that Greg was now on the merge to punch someone.

“G-Greg don’t-“

“F*ck Hashley! Look what he did to you! At may gana ka pang ipagtanggol siya? F*ck that love of yours!  Alam mong hindi ka na niya mahal at hinding-hindi ka na niya mamahalin pa!”

“I know!” ang sakit isiping pati mga kaibigan mo alam ang totoong wala ka ng pag-asa sa taong mahal mo. Ang sakit palang marinig harap-harapan at ikaw naman si bulag kinareer ang role being blind for love.

“I know Greg! Kaya ‘wag mo ng ipamukha sa akin! Mas lalo akong nasasaktan!” and then I brake down.

“Mas lalo lang akong nasasaktan hearing the truth. Please *sniff* please just for now leave it alone with us please just for now let me think *sniff* that he still love me and were like those perfect couples from before. Please *sniff* I’m begging you kasi *sniff* kasi ang sakit-sakit na eh*sniff* ang sakit-sakit na *sniff* tangnang puso ‘tu tangna talaga!” I sob while punching the side of my chest.

I know that they are smart enough to know what I mean for that and I’m thankful that they’re still with me despite of my damness.

After my little dramatic moment. Greg left us alone dahil may meeting pa raw sila with an investor. Ayaw sana niyang pumunta dun dahil iinit lang daw ang ulo niya kay Jarke hindi kasi pwedeng mawala si Jarke his the important person in that meeting. But I told him to separate the business with his personal life and that received me a grin from him. Playboy talaga.

“How are you holding?”

“I don’t know best”

Jonathan touched my head.” Okay ka naman wala kang lagnat so I guess you hold it very well” tinabig ko ang kamay niya. May gana pa siyang magbiro sa kalagayan kong ‘tu.

After Jonathan heard everything about me he immeditaly take the early flight going in the Philippines to comfort me. And I really miss him so much! Shocked is understatement when I saw him I loose my thoughts! Hindi kasi ako makapaniwalang ang baklang best friend ko was now a very charming and hansome man! Grabe ang laki ng pinagbago niya hindi na siya pinabae he’s manly to describe.

“Galit ako sa’yo” he said in a waresome tone.

“I know galit nga rin ako sa sarili ko”

“Alam mo bang I intentionally followed you in Australia?” nanlaki ang mga mata ko. Did he know something?

 “M-may alam ka ba best?”

“The first I heard that your gone may hinala na ako. I’ve been with you from the start Hash, you can’t hide everything from me”

“P-paano mo nalamang nandun ako?”

“One time I went to your house while you asleep. May text kang natanggap but I don’t bother opening the message but then I saw Spencer’s name in the screen kaya na curious ako. I grab your phone and prayed na walang password. And lucky I am wala nga I open it and read it.”

‘Choose what is right’

“I was confused of his message at first. But my instinct told me that there’s possibility that you will leave Jarke. Kaya I saved Spencer’s number”  he paused and look at my shaking hands and hold it to stop.

“One time I walk pass in Jarke’s office when I accidentally heard a commosion inside. Mabuti na lang at wala dun ang secretary niya kaya I managed to eavesdrop. Ang dami kong narinig na mga basag sa loob and all I heard from Jarke is your name. Todo pigil naman si Greg kay Jarke. And then I heard that your gone ……you left him”

My tears drop heavely from my eyes down to my heart all I hear from now is my sobbing and ache from my little friend. Hindi ko alam na ganun pala kalala ang inabot ni Jarke sa pag-alis ko.”B-best”

“Shhhhh…..he’s been wasted and messed at that time Hash. He ven tried to punch me kasi hindi siya naniniwalang wala akong alam sa escapade mo. His always been inside of the bar and every time he went to his office he has this bruises in his face. The company lost a big amount of money your dad came in the company one time. I don’t know what they’ve talked about basta ang nalaman ko lang your dad give Jarke a long vacation to relax to refresh his mind. Your father also helps in searching you. For a mean while your dad handles the company and instead of taking a vacation, Jarke just spends those days in searching you in different countries.”

A long paused.

“Jarke almost died in the middle of searching you Hash” napahawak na ako sa bibig ko. Lalo akong napahagulgol at bumilis pa lalo ang daloy ng mga luha ko.

“He went in the States for the 5th time incase you’ve been there with Philip. Pati si Philip pinahanap niya din pero bigo siya maski si Philip hindi niya makita. Nag-resign daw ito sa company ng dad mo matagal na after your wedding. Kaya mas lalong naghinala si Jarke na nagtanan kayo. He was inside the plane going back in the Philippines when the plane suddenly looses it’s control. The plane his with in crashed near Narita Airport in Japan and almost of the passengers died. Luckily he survived but 50/50 nga lang. He was in a state of dying na comatose siya for 1 year Hash. Nawalan na ng pag-asa ang mga doctor they even tried to tell Jarke’s parents to let go with their son but thanks to his parents ang taas ng patience nila. Hindi nila sinunod ang payo ng mga doctor and they transferred Jarke in the States for high tech medicines”

“For a year were all shocked that he’s back again in the office looking normal like nothing’s happened. Mas lalo siyang nag-focus sa paglalago ng company ng mommy mo but his changed big time. Everyday we saw different women coming in and out to his office. He changed a lot he’s very strict on us a little mistake then your fired ganyan siya. And that’s when I tried to track Spencer’s phone because I’m one of those lucky persons I track his phone and found your address.”

Bigla na lang ngumiti si best ng malumanay. “But Greg being Greg na delay ang pagpunta ko sa’yo. I guess alam no na ang love story namin ni Lizzete” and that give me a light smile.

“Walang alam si Lizzete about you. She keeps on asking me why I want to live in Australia may babae ba daw ako dun but I just keep my mouth shut.”

“B-bakit hindi ka nagpakita sa akin kaagad dun best?”

“I know you leave because you don’t want any complication. So I respected your decision and forced myself to be invinsible from you. All the time I saw you from a far Hash especially sa anak mo. I’ve been there just to check you time to time whether Spencer treated you well. Naku kung nalaman kong inaalipusta ka ng Spencer na ‘yon hindi ako magdadalawang isip na sugurin ang bahay n’yo ng des-oras. But as what I saw Spencer has this feeling to protect you from everything at hindi matatago ang pagmamahal niya sa’yo Hash”

“But I-I guess it’s too late for me now to settle t-things with h-him”

“You think?” I look at my best friends face and nod.

“Ewan ko Hash, ikaw ang mas nakakakilala kay Jarke because you’ve been with him a long time ago. And being your friend I also learn to know the true Jarke even in a small spun of time. And only one thing I’ve known him better………….…He never feel tired in getting the woman of his life even how many times he received pain and hurt from her. The true Jarke never easily give up”
