Chapter 17

PYRRHA

It feels like someone is near me.

What was that?

There's someone holding my wrist.

There's something cold.

"Did I surprise you? I'm sorry." I heard someone said. I think that voice is from a young girl.

I opened my eyes and indeed saw a girl with a short stature. She has a really long braided brown hair that's even longer than her. She also possess bright green eyes. She almost looks like a kid or maybe she's really just a kid. Her voice sounds squeaky and small.

There's green bright light coming from her fingers that she placed on my wrist. It feels cool and refreshing.

"It seems like your condition is okay now, Miss Pyrrha." she said.

"How did you know my name? Who are you?" I asked.

"My name is Willow and I am an old friend of Nauri. She once told me about you. I am the Witch Medic around this area." she smiled.

"Ah. Aren't you a little bit too young?" I said.

"We're just at the same age, Miss Pyrrha." Willow stated.

"Oh! I'm so sorry!" I apologized.

"It's okay. It's a common mistake." she looks a bit down.

"Good thing, you're alright."

"What happened earlier?"

"Your friends panic when you fell unconscious on the ground after the battle against the Sea Wyvern. The guy with striking blue eyes even carried you like a princess, rushing to me."

Eh? Jack did that?! Gee, that guy is really-

"Wait- I was unconscious?"

"Yes." Willow answered.

"What happened during the fight?"

Willow looked at me confused, "What do you mean? You don't remember anything?"

"I'm afraid I do." I replied. I really can't remember anything.

"Then what was the last thing you remember?" she asked.

"Jack was attacked by Lagiacrus then that's it. I blacked out."

"How odd. As I can remember, they said that you were the one who defeated Lagiacrus." Willow said.

"What? I did that?"

"According to Sir Dante, there was a sudden huge flare that appeared and you were surrounded by flames. You wielded a peculiar bow and you defeated Lagia with a single shot straight to its heart. Then after that, the flames died out and you were completely unconscious."

"I don't remember any of those. I swear." I insisted.

"That's odd. If you want to be sure about it, go ask them."

"Thanks."

"No problem." she smiled sweetly.

I really did that? I don't remember doing that. I looked around and saw my reflection on the mirror. I noticed something different.

What's this? A necklace?

There's a gem that hungs around my neck which makes it look like a pendant. How odd. I don't remember having one of these.

"Ah! They said that was the gem you were holding when you were unconscious. The blue-eyed boy made it into a necklace for you." Willow said as she stood beside me.

"Jack did this?"

"He was really worried about you. Back then when you are under recovery, he was crying silently on the other side of the door. He kept saying it was his fault he couldn't look after you that time."

"Really?"

"Oh my!" Willow exclaimed.

"Why?"

"That was a secret. He told me not to tell you. Well, my mouth slipped. Just act like I didn't tell you, okay? I'll stay here for a while." she exclaimed and covered her mouth.

"Got it." I chuckled.

I got out of the room and saw Dante leaning on the wall. He got a bit surprised when saw me.

"Hey! You okay now?" he greeted.

"Yeah." I answered casually.

"So how are you feeling?" he asked.

"Good. Where are the others?"

"They’re out there." he pointed at the guest room.

"Ah. Let's go."

I was about go there when he blocked the way.

"I overheard your conversation with Willow. You don't really remember?"

"I don't remember at all. You could even scan my mind to make sure of it. I'm not lying." I answered boldly.

"Fine." Dante closed his eyes and brushed his long bangs up, revealing his right eye. When he opened his eyes, I discovered his right eye is red unlike his right eye which has the color of deep purple. He looked straight to my eye. It feels like he's really reading through me.

That startled me a bit but I stood confidently for I knew that I was telling the truth.

He stares at me then he let out a sigh.

"I see it now, sorry for doubting you."

"It's alright. I understand it." I answered.

Dante placed his bangs over his right eye as usual. I got surprised when I noticed that some strands if his hair turned white.

"Ah! My hair? It's like the side effect when I use that skill. It's normal in the family. It'll be back to its original color by later, so don't worry." he smiled. He probably had read my thoughts.

"Why do you keep those bangs?" I asked curiously.

"To cover my right eye. It possesses a passive skill of reading someone's thoughts. Earlier, I made a full scan of your last hour memory that's why some of my hair turned white. When I do complicated stuff, this happens." he explained.

Ah. It's all clear now.

"We should go." I said.

"Right!" he nodded.

We walked together towards the guest room.
