S1: Chapter 12 - Don't Look Back

Chapter 12

PYRRHA

"Everyone, be prepared. They are just nearby. Let's get moving." Nauri said.

"Nauri, the hunters are also nearby." Jack added.

"WHAT?!" she exclaimed.

"I though you're aware of that..." he sighed.

"So I guess, there's no other way but to fight then. I think it'll be easier to handle a labyrinth than a bunch of creeps." Dante replied.

"LET'S MOVE OUT!!!" Nauri shouted and we started running towards the school's main entrance on the first floor.

It feels so weird. It's like someone is watching us. We paused halfway to catch our breath.

"What's going on?" I questioned.

"There are enemies nearby. Monsters and those Witch hunters..." Jack panted, "It'll be easier to escape using the labyrinth route than dealing with them."

"What do they want anyway?"

"They want all of us to disappear..." Dante answered.

"What do you mean by that?"

"We'll explain to you later. For now, we have to escape." Nauri replied.

We finally reached the stairs. I hope there's a proper explanation for this later.

"This is it. Are you ready? We have to finish this quickly to avoid them. Let's go!" Nauri exclaimed and jumped down the stairs along with Dante which surprised me. Jack grabbed my hand and pulled me down as well.

We really are going beyond a certain boundary.

Like a force field.

And it's giving me chills and goose bumps.

I don't really know what that is.

I just held onto Jack's hand.

And it feels like we're in slow motion.

And at last, we finally crossed that boundary.

Everything looks different but still quite similar to the school's environment.

But it feels different to me.

Jack turned and looked at me and smiled.

"Don't worry. I'll protect you, okay?"

"Okay." I replied.

I still don't know what's going on though. I just stood close to Jack.

I looked at Jack but he doesn't seem to have a weapon though. He caught me looking at him but he just smiled with a sense of assurance that it will be alright.

We walked with caution through a hallway we've never seen before. And there are windows that weren't there also. It definitely looks like a different place.

We continued moving forward. Soon I noticed that there's now water on the floor.

"Water..." I gasped.

"Don't bother." Dante said.

"O-okay..."

Soon the water has gotten a bit deeper but I tried not to pay attention to it.

Later on, everything disappeared.

The hallway.

The windows.

We we're now standing in an endless blue sea reflecting the bright blue sky.

I looked up and adored the view.

I wonder what happened to the hallway. Is it still there?

I was about to look back but then Jack stopped me and said, "Don't look back. If you want to just, close your eyes."

I took a deep breath.

This time, I'll be brave.

I shall witness the next event with my very own eyes.
