S1: Chapter 23 - Wait

Chapter 23
PYRRHA

I'm already standing right in front of the door. I tried to open it but it's locked.

I don't even feel waiting for this person who sent me here. This was known to be the creepiest part of the school. You must go through a dark hallway before you could reach it. Then if you turn right, you'll see the room's entrance and nothing more. 

There are no windows and sometimes the lights were on but are dim and the others were flickering. 

The Science Clubroom was moved to the 2nd floor, along with the other clubrooms. This was the old one on the first floor and was now abandoned and empty. It is located on the left wing of the building. 

According to the myths of the school, this room has a mysterious aura surrounding it, causing no one else even the staff went inside. Except this one person that was in here, ever since then. 

Most of the students hear the sound of a child laughing and odd noises from this room. 

No one ever knew what is inside. The room never even had any windows or holes to peek in. 

The atmosphere is getting creepy. I can faintly hear someone humming a tune. 

"Is this some kind of prank or what? Anyways, I'm leaving." I said then walked away, never looking back. 

 

"No! No! No! Please wait!"

I heard an eerie tiny voice from the other side of the door. It sounds like a voice coming from a child. 

I heard the door open and creaked. I looked back and saw a small moving bin. It was a tiny bow tied around the antenna attached on its top. It has one wheel that allows it to move anywhere. 

I kept on banging on the wall repeating the word 'Wait'.

I just looked away and acted like I saw nothing. 

"You're supposed to sound cute and not creepy..." I heard someone said.

I looked back and saw a guy wearing our uniform and goggles with yellow tint around his forehead. His sweater is pretty dirty and he has gloves that look much worn out. He leaks the smell of oil and metal. This guy is just messy all over. 

He picked up the tiny robot and looked at me. 

"Did I startle you?" he asked me. 

"Pretty much." I answered. 

"Why are you here? You guys are off-limits around here."

"Well, someone told me to go here."

 

He placed his hand on this chin and thought for a while. After that, his eyes widened. 

                                  

"Come this way, my friend."

He walked into the room and I followed him. 

I got surprised after seeing what is inside.

 There are gears everywhere.

The colors of gold, copper, silver and metal surrounded the room. There were moving hears on the ceiling.

 I saw a bunch of prototype robot arranged on the shelves.

And on the left side of the room is a huge glass window showing the thick forest that surrounded the academy.

The yellow curtains draped down above the window.

A sofa was over there as well.

The light from it surrounded the room. 

"I thought there are no windows." I murmured. 

"I made that glass. What you see outside is a plain wall, but here in the inside, you can see the outside." he explained. 

"That was cool..."

"Pyrrha, did I get it right?" he asked.

"Yes, you got it."

"My name's Janneza. Nice to meet you." he introduced himself. 

"Nice to meet you too, Janneza." I bowed as a sign of respect. 

"No need to bow," he shook his head, "Please wait here for a while, your friend will be back soon. Have a seat."

I sat on the sofa quietly and stayed still. 

"Don't be so tense." he smiled. What a friendly guy. 

I stared at the ceiling of the room and admired its unique design.

I looked at Janneza and he was busy doing his business at his little workshop.

He looked for something in his drawers while holding on the tiny bin robot. 

"Are you some kind of inventor or tinker?" I asked.

"I am the Tinker." he replied and looked back at me. I saw his eyes glow red and went back to work. 

I knew it. 

Later on, I heard a clunk beside me.

I looked at the wall and gears emerged from the flat surface. It spun and unlocked a secret passage.

Someone came out of it. 

It was Jack.
