Chapter 31

Ivy's POV
Last night felt like a dream and maybe a little bit of a nightmare. I apparently found out behind all the lipstick and expensive brand clothing, their was a sweet girl, Erika, who I was jealous of this whole time and even doubted myself. But then I found out, even her perfect life isn't so perfect.

I woke up to the first person on my mind being Grayson, whom I was in love with. Yet I was so clueless, this whole time!

Zoe, I need to make things right with her. I get up quickly and look outside my window to see mama already left. Today was her competition and I promised to support her so I will. I quickly got dressed brushed my teeth and left. I also realized that Nate isn't here.

I check my phone to see its 12:45 fuck, her competition is in 15 minutes, I'll never make it. I drive fast, but not too fast!

I get to the beach and it was already 1:08 when I arrived, hopefully I didn't miss it. I run to the beach and see my whole family surrounding someone. It was Zoe she was crying. "I can't I'm nervous, she's mad at me, I can't.... Ivy" Zoe says when she sees me. She has been crying.

"Ivy if you're going to make things worse leave" Mama says. "No, no I'm not. I came her to apologize" I say and smile at her then Jacob. "I should have been more supportive, and I blamed it on you when I shouldn't have" I say. "What?! No, you don't have to apologize, I totally understand if you don't want us to be together!" She says. "I don't" I sigh. She looks at me and sighs and nods.

"Well I didn't, , but then I realized. If what I wanted was happiness for you guys, and I truly did love you, who am I to stop you." I smile. Mama smiles at me and words out 'proud of you'. "And it would make me beyond happy if two of my favourite people in the world were happy together" I chuckle. Zoe comes and hugs me and so does Jacob. "I'm sorry" she says. "You don't have to be" I chuckle. "Now go, and win that contest!" I say and slap her bum. She chuckles and runs out.

Mama and Nate and Cindy smile at me and go to watch her. Juli and Ethan come up and hug me, "you okay we heard about yesterday?" Ethan asks, "I'm fine" I smile. "Okay well you coming to watch" Julia says, I nod and they smile then go. I realized that Grayson was behind them.

He came up closer to me and I smiled, we both looked out at the ocean watching Zoe. "That was really cool of you" he says. "Only the right thing" I say. "Yeah, Listen Ivy, I'm sorry about your dad" he says and looks at me. "Yeah well, what can you do?" I say and give him a chuckle whilst putting my hair behind my ear and looking out to the water. "I talked to Erika" I sigh, "you know she was actually being nice" I say. "Well I told you so" he chuckles. "Oh seriously you are going to use that?" I chuckle. "Well I think I have the right to" he laughs.

"Grayson about yesterday, the whole thing with the kiss.." I say but he cuts me off. "Yeah no need to worry about it, it was just a moment like you said nothing is ever going to happen between anyways" he says and looks at me. In that moment I knew, the reason he was upset with me is because I had said that, which could possibly mean that he felt the same way.

"Grayson I.." I begin to say that I was in love with you. "You know it's great that you said that, because Erika was getting really jealous of me and you. Now I know you don't have feelings for me, which is great. No awkward tension or anything" he chuckles. "Right" I nod. So he doesn't feel the same way, that's okay, It was a long shot for me to assume a guy like Grayson could like me anyways.

"Woooooo" Nate , Jacob and Jake cheer at Zoe who just won. I smile and we walk up to congratulate her.

After her cermony to be certified eligible for nationals, Zoe, Jacob and I decided we needed to have lunch together. So they went in Jacobs car whilst I went in mine and we went to eat. I parked my car and got out to see them kiss and her wearing his sweater. I am happy they're happy, but I can't help me being jealous, not of Zoe, but their relationship, I miss that, and I want that with Someone, Grayson in particular. Whatever, you can't chase what you can't have.
