"Where the hell were you?" Jade asked, pushing Cooper into a metal fence as the two met up near their spot on the pier. Cooper stuck his hands as Jade slapped his arm and immediately began to walk away from him after. She crossed her arms and made her way to their bench as Cooper smirked and watched her walk.
"Was some worried about me?"
"No. Of course not." Jade retorted sarcastically. She sat down on the bench, not looking back at Cooper who had began walking to the bench as well. Jade stared out at the ocean, her breath visible due to the cold weather. Cooper slid his hands into his jacket pockets and looked down at the ground, kicking around a rock.
"Nothing was wrong. Okay? I met with Kayleigh, that's it." Cooper said, hitting the rock too hard and watching it slide underneath the railing of the pier and down into the ocean.
"Even if nothing's wrong you should still an- wait what? Kayleigh? The army lady?" Jade asked, turning her head and looking at Cooper. "Why'd you meet with her?"
Cooper stared at the wooden boards of the pier for a moment, trying to think of a way to answer Jade's question without angering her. "Well, I... sort of agreed to help her."
"Without talking to me?!" Jade asked, standing up and nearly shouting at her best friend.
"I wanted to talk to you about it, but she gave me no time. I think she's watching us." Cooper said, looking up at Jade. Jade was silent for a moment, staring at Cooper who wouldn't look back at her. She took a few steps towards him, and instinctively Cooper tensed up. Jade wrapped her arms around Cooper's neck, hugging him and putting her head on his shoulder.
"Just don't scare me like that again." she whispered. Cooper put his arms around her and nodded his head.

Danny had earbuds in as he stood next to a punching bag. His blonde hair was pulled back into a short ponytail while sweat dripped down his face. His shirt was drenched and he was breathing heavily after just finishing a long workout session. Danny began to take off the gloves he had on, looking around the gym he was in. The usual meatheads were around, but something caught his eye. Speaking to one of the trainers was a kid he couldn't seem to avoid. He grabbed his water bottle and began to walk over to the other student, whose face was bruised and bandaged.
"What the hell happened to you?" Danny asked, popping out one of his earbuds. Javier and the trainer he was talking to looked at Danny, both caught off guard by the surprise third party. Javier waved off the trainer and looked at the ground when he responded.
"Johnny." Javier muttered. Danny was clearly taken back by the person mentioned and his eyes slowly began to narrow.
"He did this to you?" Danny asked, feeling a rage begin to rise in him. Javier nodded, and was quickly able to tell that Danny was about to do something.
"That asshole." he muttered to himself, beginning to walk out of the gym.
"Danny! Chill! I'm getting a trainer so I can learn to fight. Let me handle this!" Javier said, chasing after him as Danny marched through the facility towards the exit.
"He's my problem too Javi. I'm handling this." Danny said, making his way out of the gym. Javier stood in the doorway to the building, watching the senior head off towards his car.
"Shit." Javier said to himself.

"Tell your boyfriend to chill out." was a text Mollie received as she sat on her bed, a textbook open next to her and a notebook in her lap. She reached over and picked up her phone, cocking her head at the odd text she got from Skylar.
