The town the five children lived in was surrounded by woods for a few miles with a large city sitting to the west. There was one main highway that took the patrons of the town through the woods and to the city. Aside from the highway leading to the city, most of the woods had been left untouched, only being occupied by homeless or teens trying to get away from their homes for a few hours. Two teens in particular were standing a few feet away from the main highway, kicking around rocks with their hands in their pockets.
Mollie and Cooper stood around, seeing the condensation of their breath in the cool winter air. Another school day had ended and the communication between the five was still damaged, leaving the odd pair to stick together during the rough patch.
"What do you think she wants?" Mollie asked, zipping up her light brown leather jacket that covered her white button up shirt. Cooper had on the usual black hoodie with a black leather jacket over it.
"I have no idea. Usually we get darted when she wants to talk." Cooper said.
"Things are a bit complicated at the moment. I'm glad you guys could listen to a simple text." Kayleigh spoke up, appearing from basically out of nowhere, causing the two teens to jump.
"Where the hell did you come from?" Mollie asked. Her and Cooper stood side by side, with their backs to the woods where Kayleigh had walked out of.
"Look, I need you to talk to Javi and Danny immediately. Jade too. The three of them need to be fully on board with what's going on." Kayleigh pleaded.
"Why is it so important?" Cooper asked.
"Just trust me. Okay? We're running out of time." Kayleigh said.
"We deserve an explanation since we're guinea pigs after all." Mollie retorted, crossing her arms.
"You'll get an explanation. Just go and get the other three. Now!" Kayleigh ordered. Mollie and Cooper's eyes both went wide as she shouted the last word. The two turned around and began walking back towards the town, whispering to each other.
"They're never gonna go for it." Cooper said.
"Trust me I know." Mollie agreed. She turned her head to look back at Kayleigh, shocked to see that the woman was already gone. Mollie shook her head, turning her head back around and walking into the town with Cooper.

NEXT DAY
"Hey guys! Wait up!" Javi shouted, running down the hall with his textbook in his hand as he chased after Darnell and Michelle. The two looked back, seeing Javi, and then began walking away from him. Javi stopped in his tracks, clearly confused as his two best friends began to walk away from him.
"Guys!" Javi shouted again, chasing after them once again. This time he ran in front of them, stopping right in front of the two so they couldn't continue walking.
"What?" Michelle asked coldly.
"Whoa. That was kinda rude." Javi said, sticking his hands out in defense. He then smiled at the two, laughing softly. Their faces remained serious, avoiding eye contact with Javi. He noticed this and his smile quickly disappeared.
"Seriously Javi. What do you want?" Darnell asked.
"You guys seem mad. Did I do something?" Javi tried to figure out.
"No! And that's the problem!" Michelle shouted at him. Other students looked over at the outburst and all three friends began to blush.
"Michelle, not here." Darnell tried to ease the tension.
