Javi hid behind a parked car, breathing heavily while hugging his knees to his chest. The cold air was constantly battling with his heated body, creating an odd atmosphere around him. Jade had been sitting on the other side of the car, her ice armor destroyed from the constant flamethrower attacks sent out by Javi.
"This isn't right." Jade whispered to herself. Javi was able to hear her, his breaths slowing down as he stood up. His movements were slow, not wanting to disrupt his new enemy in the middle of their thoughts.
"It's what we need to do." she whispered again. Javi made his way around the car, his back hunched over to try and keep his footsteps quiet on the asphalt lot. He stood at the hood of the car, looking over it and at Jade. She had her face in her hands and her knees against her chest.
"Jade." Javi said in a hushed tone. Jade's head perked up instantly, her eyes wide. Javi could see the fear that filled them, mixed with confusion, and pain.
"I'm sorry." she spoke. She lunged at the freshmen. Javi dropped to his knees, slamming his hands onto the ground. A wave of flames spread out from his body in all directions, hitting Jade and sending her crashing back into the ground. After a moment of silence, Javi realized he hadn't been attacked.
"What the...?" Javi questioned, lifting his head to see Jade lying on the ground. His eyes went wide as he ran over to and could see a small amount of air coming out of her mouth thanks to the cold weather.
"Okay, she's okay." Javi spoke to himself, kneeling down next to her. "I can't just leave her out here..." Javi lifted her up in his arms, struggling at first to stand up while holding her, but accomplished it. He then began to walk back towards the hole in the wall they created to get her back in the school.

The ice covering the school slowly began to disappear. The cold air was thinning, becoming less prominent. The Higher Being stood in the parking lot, looking at the sky as dark clouds brightened up from the lightning he was summoning. His gaze lowered to the high school where everyone he had affected was battling it out. The thought of the chaos put a smile on his face as he slowly walked towards the front entrance.
Lockers were dented, with slight streaks of blood on the ground, showing the signs of a super powered fight. Staring at one of the small spots, the Higher Being imagined his minion Johnny had taken advantage of the other teen with super strength. His ideas were quickly pushed to the side as he saw the blonde haired bully lying on the ground unconscious. Next to him was his hand picked Ice Queen, Jade. Standing over the two was Javi, with one hand on the back of his head as he smiled nervously.
"Heh, you must be that Higher Being guy." Javi said nervously.
"What have you done?" the Higher Being shouted out angrily.

Danny dove right into the action, tackling two of Romero's minions. The impact made them turn into smoke, disappearing as Danny set his sights on the staff. Cooper continued to struggle against Romero's staff, feeling an overwhelming pain where the staff touched his skin. He kicked his legs out, barely hitting the man encased in shadows. Danny sprinted forward, tackling Romero to the ground and letting Cooper free of his grasp. Cooper held his neck, taking small breaths while Romero's staff bounced away from the three.
"Danny?" Cooper asked.
"Get the staff." Danny ordered, slamming Romero into the wall once both were back to their feet. One of Romero's tiny minions had grabbed the staff, holding it against its body.
"Hand it over." Cooper said, sticking his hand out to the minion. Instead of doing what it was told, the minion used the staff to fire a blast of dark energy at Cooper, sending him to the ground quickly.
