Chapter 3 - He's Unforgivable (Greyson POV)

"Memes are so quick. When you think you finally know what's currently going on, the next three things pop up like, 'Here's Johnny!'" I was explaining to my marketing friends. I decided to step into the office, like I did at least once a week, just for some company. And, admittedly, to procrastinate from school work.

I was in charge of posting on our social media channels. I could both quickly create a digital image and I was young enough to know all the current trends. Wendy's thought they were so good at being cool on Twitter, but they just hadn't gotten into any (fresh) beef with me!

"I like the old fashion way. Just talking about what our cars feature and what kind of person they are better suited for." Brandon said. I could've sworn he was seventy-six, but he kept correcting me. I would never believe he was forty-two, he had to be lying by at least a little.

"That kind of marketing is good too. It just won't appeal to some of the younger buyers." I said. I was the only female in the room, which didn't surprise me. Ever since I had first started working for this company, I knew finding females was nearly impossible. I was fine with that, I got along with guys better anyways. The big issue I had with all my new coworkers were they were all a little bit too old and a little bit too married to relate to. Thankfully they were all decently kind to me despite our differences.

With me being there, Meyers Motors saw a huge increase in their online following. Which probably meant more young people were buying cars, which meant I was doing a great frickin' job. I was probably due for a raise, but they were still paying me a really nice salary, even if it wasn't COO money, and as long as it was helping with my bills and splurging, I couldn't complain.

"The new way is broken. What's this egg thing?" He asked and Ryan laughed.

Ryan was technically my new boss. Or, supervisor, but yeah, what I said. He was a few months away from being forty and was married with two children. That information was relevant because it was his kids that kept him in the know about what the younger generations were into. It was also relevant to me because, any time I thought about even potentially flirting because he was cute, I reminded myself that he was a father and I would stop myself.

But man, Ryan really liked working out, and with his heftier frame, it looked like he would rip out of his blazer with just a flex of his biceps.

"Brandon, you are still stuck in the, 'me gusta' era of memes when you really need to get onto the Vine reference era, before you can even look at the egg." I said.

He just shrugged and brought up two different posters he had created. The both had a bunch of words written about the features of a new car only differing in the angle of the car pictured. "Which one is more attractive?" He asked the lot.

"They're a bit word-y." Bobby chimed in. These guys, though basic, were funny enough to stick with.

"Alright Grey, what would you do to make these better?" He directed at me.

"Well," I swiveled my rolly chair over to him and grabbed the posters, examining them like I was actually reading the words. "This back view isn't a bad picture. I'd blow this up and write a tagline. Something like, 'Are you starin' at my ass-sets?' You get it? And then add a few of the features. That kinda thing." I handed the flyers back to him.

The guys all laughed about it, except Brandon, who just looked at the posters. "I think if Connor saw that, he'd fire our whole department for approving it." He added.

I rolled my eyes. Connor had a lot more people scared in this building than I knew. It was a little ridiculous how they tried to kiss up to him. "Well, I tried my best. I'm gonna head out, see y'all later." I got up from my seat, rolling it back under one of the desks. All the men said their goodbyes to me and I exited the room.
