AN: I don't own Doctor Who, or any of the characters. I don't own you either.
Your POV
"Y/N?" The Doctor asked softly, sitting beside you on the TARDIS staircase. "Are you alright?" You looked up at him, and nodded.
"Course." You answered. "Why wouldn't I be?" The Doctor shrugged his shoulders, as you stared at the TARDIS console.
"You just seem distracted. You haven't said a lot lately." He said. You stayed silent, as the voice spoke in your mind again. "Y/N, speak to him. Don't push him away." You turned to face him, and said softly, "What do you think Winston Churchill wants?" The Doctor frowned at you.
"Don't change the subject." Amy stepped out from one of the many doorways inside the TARDIS, and called,
"Trouble in paradise?" You glared at her angrily, and she smirked. "Knew it. So, when will the TARDIS land?" The Doctor got on his feet slowly, and leaned against the console. "In a few moments." He replied. Idly, you played with the necklace around your neck, as you heard the voice again. "Are you stupid? I know you can hear me." You bit your lip, as you wondered why you could suddenly hear this voice. You also wanted to know who's voice it was, as it certainly wasn't your own. "Glad we're finally on the same page. Now, listen to me." The voice said, as you noticed that The Doctor and Amy were heading for the door. "Are you coming?" Amy asked, turning to look back at you. You got on your feet, and went to walk towards them. As you did so, you realised that you had a terrible headache. Trying to ignore it, you joined The Doctor and Amy. The Doctor weakly smiled at you, before opening the door partially and sticking his head out. A moment later, he glanced back at you and Amy, before stepping outside the box. Curious about what was going on, you also poked your head out. When you did, you were greeted by the sight of soldiers with guns pointed at you. You put your hands up, as the soldiers parted revealing a familiar looking man with a cigar. "Y/N, Amy..." The Doctor said breathlessly, as Amy appeared by your side. "Winston Churchill."
"Doctor?" Churchill questioned. "Is it you?"
"Oh, Winston, my old friend!" The Doctor greeted happily, offering him his hand. Winston didn't take his hand, instead he gestured for The Doctor to give him something. The Doctor chuckled, and you looked at Amy in confusion. "Ah! Every time!" The Doctor exclaimed.
"What's he after?" Amy asked curiously.
"TARDIS key, of course." The Doctor answered.
"Think of what I could achieve with your remarkable machine, Doctor!" Winston said. "The lives that could be saved."
"Ah, doesn't work like that." The Doctor replied, closing the door of the TARDIS.
"Must I take it by force?" Winston asked, and you tensed up thinking he meant it. The Doctor burst out laughing, at your expression.
"Your expression, Y/N! He was just joking!" He remarked. "I'd like to see you try." Winston smiled, as your expression changed back to a weak smile. "At ease." He said, and the soldiers lowered their guns.
"You rang?" The Doctor asked. Churchill gestured for you to follow him, and you did so as The Doctor loosely took your hand. In fact, it didn't seem like he was even aware that he'd done it. Amy noticed, and she smirked at you. You glanced back at her, as she stayed silent. The four of you kept walking until you noticed that the ceiling was shaking. "So you've changed your face again." Winston commented.
"Yeah, well, had a bit of work done." The Doctor answered.
"Got it, got it, got it!" Amy cried. "Cabinet War Rooms, right?"
"Yep." The Doctor answered. "Top secret heart of the War Office, right under London."
"Is the ceiling meant to be shaking like that?" You asked, as more dust and dirt fell on top of you. The Doctor nodded, and answered,
"It is underground, Y/N." You nodded.
"You're late, by the way." Winston interrupted, as a woman approached him with a clipboard.
"Late?" The Doctor asked, going to pull his hand up to check his watch. This was when he realised that your hand was still linked with his. He looked at you awkwardly, before letting go. You heard him mumble something under his breath that you didn't quite hear properly. "I rang you a month ago." Winston replied.
"Really? Sorry. It's a Type 40 TARDIS, I'm just running her in." The Doctor apologised, as the woman with the clipboard took back her clipboard. "Something the matter, Breen?" Winston inquired. "You look a little down in the dumps."
"No, sir. Fine, sir." Breen insisted, before going to walk away.
"Action this day, Breen! Action this day!" Winston recited, stamping his foot.
"Yes, sir." Breen said, actually walking away this time.
"So, Doctor. Introduce me to your friends." Winston said, looking at you and Amy.
"This is Amy Pond." The Doctor replied, looking at the red head. A man approached Winston, and interrupted him before he could introduce you. "Excuse me, sir. Got another formation coming in, Prime Minister." The man said. "Stukas by the look of them."
"We shall go up top, then, Group Captain!" Winston said. "We'll give 'em what for!" The Group Captain nodded, before heading away from you. "What about your girlfriend? What's her name?" Winston asked, as you realised he was talking about you. You looked at the Doctor, who oddly enough stayed quiet. Sighing, you answered, "Y/N. And I'm not..." Before you could finished speaking, Winston interrupted.
"Coming, Doctor?"
"Why?" The Doctor asked.
"I have something to show you." Winston replied, leading you to an elevator that would presumably take you to the roof. You stood in the far corner with Amy, whilst Winston said; "We stand at a crossroads, Doctor, quite alone, with our backs to the wall. Invasion is expected daily."
"That must be so terrifying." You said quietly. Winston looked at you through the darkness and cigar smoke that filled the elevator.
"Indeed, my dear. This is why I will grasp with both hands anything that will give us an advantage over the Nazi menace." He replied.
"Such as?" The Doctor asked, as the elevator stopped.
"Follow me." Winston said, stepping out of the elevator. You did as he said, realising that you were actually on the roof.
"Wow!" Amy exclaimed.
"Doctor, this is Professor Edwin Bracewell, head of our Ironsides project." Winston said, pointing at the man with binoculars on the balcony. You looked over at him, and briefly waved at him. "How d'you do?" Bracewell called, putting down his binoculars.
"What's the Ironside project?" You asked Churchill. Churchill looked up at Bracewell, and asked,
"Ready, Bracewell?" Bracewell nodded, and yelled,
"On my order, fire!" As he finished speaking, several laser shots fired into the air and hit the lingering German planes in the air.
"What was that?" Amy asked.
"That wasn't human. That was never human technology, that sounded like..." The Doctor said, before glancing at you. "Show me!" He demanded. "Show me what that was!" You followed the Doctor up the ladder to the balcony where Bracewell was, in time for a familiar enemy to appear from behind the bunker. A Dalek.
