AN: I don't own Doctor Who, or any of the characters. I don't own you either.
Your POV
"That's impossible..." You whispered.
"It's an oxygen factory." River said, smiling at you and Amy who were in awe.
"And if we're lucky, a way out!" The Doctor exclaimed. Amy laughed for a moment, before commenting,
"Eight." You looked at her in concern. Why was she counting down? And what would happen when she reached zero? Something told you that it wouldn't be very good at all. "What did you say?" River asked.
"Nothing." Amy replied.
"Is there another exit?" The Doctor asked loudly. "Scan the architecture, we don't have time to get lost in there!" Octavian walked forward, entering the forest. He commanded you to stay where you were until he'd checked that it was safe. "But trees? On a spaceship?" Amy inquired.
"Oh more than trees, way better than trees. You're gonna love this." The Doctor replied, also entering the forest. He pulled back a piece of the tree trunk, revealing a series of narrow wires. "Tree Borgs!" He explained, causing you to laugh. "Trees plus technology! Branches become cables, become sensors on the hull, a forest sucking in starlight, breathing out air." He explained. "It even rains! There's a whole mini-climate. This vault is an eco-pod running right through the heart of the ship. A forest in a bottle on a spaceship in a maze. Have I impressed you guys yet?" You smiled, whilst Amy let out a laugh.
"Seven." She commented.
"Seven?" The Doctor repeated, standing by her side.
"Sorry, what?" Amy asked.
"You're counting down." You answered.
"What?" Amy questioned, looking at you as if you'd lost your mind. "No, I'm not. I didn't say seven, either."
"Yes, you did." River interrupted.
"Doctor, there's an exit, far end of the ship into the Primary Flight deck." Octavian called.
"Good, that's where we need to go." The Doctor replied, studying Amy.
"Plotting a safe path now." Octavian answered.
"Quick as you like." The Doctor said.
"Doctor? Excuse me, Doctor?" Bob's voice asked through the radio. "Angel Bob here, Sir." The Doctor picked up the radio, and sat down in the white chair at the control centre. "Ah, there you are, Angel Bob. How's life? Sorry, bad subject." The Doctor said into the radio.
"The Angels are wondering what you hope to achieve."
"Achieve? We're not achieving anything, we're just hanging." The Doctor lied. "It's nice in here, consoles, comfy chairs, a forest. How's things with you?"
"The Angels are feasting, sir. Soon, we'll be able to absorb enough power to consume this vessel, this world, and all the stars and worlds beyond."
"Well, we've got comfy chairs, did I mention?"
"We have no need of comfy chairs."
"I made him say comfy chairs." The Doctor commented to you and Amy, causing Amy to giggle.
"Six." She said. The Doctor got on his feet.
"OK, Bob, enough chat. Here's what I want to know. What have you done to Amy?" He questioned.
"There's something in her eye." Bob replied.
"What's in her eye?"
"We are." Fear took over Amy's face, as she turned to The Doctor.
"What's he talking about?" She questioned. "Doctor, I'm five." The Doctor looked at her sceptically, as she continued. "I mean, five. Fine! I'm fine!"
"Y/N was right. You're counting." River stated.
"Counting?" Amy repeated.
"You're counting down from ten. Have been for a while." The Doctor answered.
"Why?" Amy asked.
"I don't know." He replied.
"Well, counting down to what?" She asked.
"I don't know." He repeated.
"We shall take her. We shall take all of you. We shall have dominion over all of time and space."
"Get a life, Bob." The Doctor commented, picking back up the radio. "Oops, sorry again. There's power on this ship, but nowhere near that much."
"With respect, sir, there's more power on this ship than you yet understand." Bob answered. As soon as he'd finished speaking, a loud screeching noise filled the room. It was horrible, and extremely loud. You put your hands over your ears, attempting to block the sound out. "What is that? Dear God, what is it?" River questioned, looking around for the source. The noise kept going, and you closed your eyes and put your head down, wanting the pain this noise was causing you to stop. The pain burned in your head like a fire, and caused you to clench your hands up into fists. You sunk onto your knees, as you felt someone try to touch you. You looked up; opening your eyes to see it was River. She said something to you, which you didn't quite hear. You moved your hands away, and she repeated herself, "Are you alright?"
"It hurts." You mumbled. "Doctor..." He crouched in front of you, and pulled your head up so that you were looking directly at him.
"It's like back in the museum." He mumbled, and you shook your head.
"This is worse. It's burning this time." You said, your voice hoarse. "What was that noise?"
"The Angels are laughing." The Doctor answered. "Because I haven't noticed something. How are you feeling now?" You relaxed your hands, and replied, "My head hurts, but it'll probably fade again. What's happening to me? Am I dying?" The Doctor shook his head.
"I honestly don't know. I don't know what to do." He admitted, glancing at River. He moved back to look at you, before he noticed something behind you. He got on his feet, and said, "I think that might be what I missed." He commented, dashing away.
"River? Can you help me up? Please?" You asked. She nodded, and pulled you back onto your feet. You turned, to see a massive crack in the wall. Bright light shone through it, making it difficult for you to stare at it for too long. "That's... That's like the crack from my bedroom wall when I was a little girl." Amy said, surprise and shock in her voice.
"Yes." The Doctor answered, surprise also in his voice. As the ground begun to shake violently, Octavian demanded,
"Ok, enough, we're moving out!"
"Agreed!" River replied. "Doctor?"
"Yeah, fine." He agreed, climbing on top of a crate.
"What are you doing?" River and you asked in unison.
"Right with you!" He replied, pointing the sonic at the crack.
"We're not leaving without you." River insisted.
"Oh, yes, you are. Bishop!" The Doctor called, not looking away from the crack.
"Miss Pond! Dr Song! Miss L/N, now!" Octavian yelled. River dragged Amy away and into the forest, leaving you behind.
"Y/N!" River called. "With us, now!" You looked back at her.
"Do you seriously think I'll leave this mad man by himself?" You questioned.
"Y/N, go with River." The Doctor instructed. When you didn't move, he snapped, "Y/N, just this once, do as I say!"
"Why?" You asked.
"Because you matter to me and I'm trying to keep you safe! Now go!" He exclaimed. You glared at him, but ran off into the forest attempting to find River and Amy. You just hoped that The Doctor would be joining you soon.
AN: And I'm going to end it there! Thank you for reading; I hope you enjoyed! I'll see you in the next chapter!
