-startled, leo flinched.
"what's wrong?" he asked worriedly
"this is crazy. how many humans are those scientists turning into hunters?" she asked herself
when juniper didn't answer him, he got even more worried. closing the gap, he placed his hands on her shoulders, and shook her back and forth until she snapped out of her daze.
"what-" juniper gulped
though she was tall, leo was much taller, so her head only reached to his chest. leo had on tight athletic wear. realizing what she was doing, she looked down, only to be startled and looked up again.
her cheeks were crimson red and flaming hot.
"hey, are you ok?" he repeated
"y-yeah," she replied
juniper turned away shyly and bit her inner lip. ever since leo had confessed about his crush on her, she felt pressured to like him back, so she tried to avoid him. was it possible that she was gaining feelings for him?
"what are you in deep thought about?" he appeared in front of her
she shook her head. no, it's normal to think a guy's hot. even if it was your best friend.
"juniper! pay attention to me!" he whined
her heart skipped a beat. being the confused and innocent girl she is, juniper decided that she is not feeling well. that's the only explanation for everything happening.
"ah get out of my face!" juniper jokingly pushed his face away but ended up hurting him
"oh i'm sorry!" she squealed
she tried to apologize but he wouldn't listen. he was running around the studio now, and she was following him.
"i'm sorry!" she screamed while chasing him
he would continue to tease her by not responding and running even faster. this continued until juniper was so tired that her legs gave out. she tumbled onto the floor.
leo tried to catch her but ended up falling on her. they indeed a match made in heaven.
leo propped himself up on his arms and looked down at her. juniper gazed up at him and felt her cheeks heat up again. sheepishly, she tried to pull away from him, but his arms were like a cage.
"look at me juniper," he whispered
chills went down her spine. she forced herself to look at him. up close, she could see his flaws, but they didn't repulse her. his snow white hair hangs right above her forehead.
he closed his eyes dipped his head and suddenly juniper wanted to phase out of the situation, but she didn't. instead she puckered her lips, but to her surprise he didn't kiss her.
instead he just leaned his forehead on hers.
he sucked in a breath and pleaded, "juniper please like me,"
her face softened and she reached her hand up to caress his face.
"i-i do,"
she didn't know she meant it, if it was a lie or not, but it didn't matter because he was happy. it made her happy.
he spread his mouth into a smile and hugged her affectionately. she rested her head on the crook of his neck and hugged him back. it didn't matter if she lied because this felt right.
and maybe that's what it means to like someone.
maybe she didn't lie after all.

kamry ran out of the cafe.
he followed.
"please don't leave me!" he cried out
she froze. suddenly it was 36 years ago, and she was lost in the woods. it was all dense trees surrounding her. there was nobody in sight, and the only noises were from wildlife.
-
"please don't leave me!" small kamry screamedthe older female smiled tenderly, "trust me sweet one, i do not want to, but i must. you'll be safer here. perhaps you'll grow up hating me for leaving you or maybe you won't remember me at all. it doesn't matter, because at least you will be safe."
with teary eyes the young girl tried to follow the group of people ahead of her, but she was too slow. soon they were out of sight and she was alone. no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't find them.
she couldn't escape either. everywhere she turned looked the same. the same trees with nobody in sight. she fell to her knees, curled into a ball, and cried until the sun fell.
when night fall came and the woods were pitch black, kamry gave up all hope of being found. she laid on the uneven ground, frozen, and stared at the beautiful, shining stars.
she wanted to cry but was just too tired. dried tears were rough on her skin. on the ground she traced small hearts, and dreamed of being saved.
her stomach growled and failed to feed it. it was hard but she fell asleep to the crickets chirping.
"clary! she's over here!" a voice interrupted her slumber
"good, we didn't come here for nothing. i was started to worry that the girl had been found by them." the woman she assumed to be clary spoke
"she's sleeping, i checked. let's being her back to the council house," the unnamed man spoke
kamry stirred from her sleep and fluttered her eyes open. she stared straight at two strangers. one was a red head woman, clary, and the other was a dirty blonde orange tinted color hair man.
the more she stared at him, the more she realized something.
"garret?"
-
"garret?"kamry opened her eyes. she was kneeling on the side of the road. cars swarmed the streets and honked at her. her head ached.
"y-yes? kamry, are you all right?"
kamry looked to her right, and to no surprise it was garret. she tried to recall what she saw in her dream, but she couldn't put her finger on it.
"can you take me home?" she muttered
"home? sure, it's this way- wait do you want me to take you to the council house, your dorm, or that one secret hiding place you have?"
kamry stopped abruptly and spun around to face him.
"how do you know that? are you stalking me?!" she accused
his eyes widened, "i can explain-"
"wait- you are actually stalking me?!"
