everliegh couldn't take it anymore. she stood up from the bed, and went to hug tate. the poor girl was trembling in her spot. everliegh wrapped her arms around tate and allowed her to cry into her shoulder.
"tate, it will be ok. maybe not now, but one day," everliegh whispered
tate only replied with sniffles and cries.
i will be fine...when i get my revenge.

all the girls piled into the black van. the snacks and bags were in the trunk. celena had pulled through and went to ask harvey where the place was. it turns out, it was in an abandoned hospital.
typical.
he had asked to accompany them in their trip, but celena gave him the cold shoulder and said no. after that, she left without saying another word, leaving him confused.
now that the girls were seated, georgia turned the engine on and began to drive. they turned the corner and to their surprise, a man stood in the middle of the road. he stared right at them.
georgia moved her foot to step on the brake but everliegh screamed for her to stop.
"everliegh, what are you doing? are you trying to kill him?" georgia argued
everliegh gritted her teeth, "he won't die. trust me. now push ahead!"
georgia groaned. she wanted to trust everliegh, but killing a human is illegal. everliegh glared at her. georgia closed her eyes and stepped on the petal. the car surged forward.
a split second before it hit the man, he disappeared.
"see? i told you," everliegh grumbled
catherine stared straight ahead, "where did he go?who is he?"
the question was directed towards everliegh, but she wouldn't speak up. catherine figured it was someone she really hated fo her to want to run him over.
"well isn't this a good way to start a road trip," celena joked
nobody laughed at her joke or cracked a smile. some even gave her weird glances. she sighed. her attempt to lighten the mood was a fail. it seemed like the mood wasn't getting any lighter than this.
"don't forget that i can read your minds," everliegh remarked
all the girls darted their eyes around the van and stared at each other. then they began thinking about something random. for instance, kamry instantly forced herself to imagine the image of an apple.
it was the first thing that popped into her head. georgia, who was steering the wheel, made herself focus on the painted lines on the roads.
everliegh chuckled, leaned back on her chair, and canceled out all of the noise from the girls. it wasn't long after she fell asleep. though she looked peaceful, her dreams weren't.
- "everliegh let me explain,"
she ignored him.
elliot sighed, "it's not what you think."
it was no use. everliegh had already blocked out the sound of his voice. she wasn't listening to a word her said. elliot picked up his pace and tried to walk in her speedy pace, but she sped up even faster.
he groaned. elliot had to jog to keep up with her. somehow, everliegh was a couple feet away from him now. he grunted them teleported behind her and stopped her with a back hug.
out of instinct, she almost melted into the hug. almost.
"stop!" she snapped, "you don't need to explain anything! i'm a mindreader, remember? i can hear you trying to come up with excuses this very moment!"
she slapped his arms and tried to get out of his grasp, but it was near impossible. elliot might be slow, but he was sure not weak. she turned around to face him. their faces where centimeters apart.
"you're pathetic! do you know that?"
"i am! i'm pathetic! does it make you happy to hear that?" he yelled
her eyes were ringing from how loud his voice was right next to her ears, but that was the last thing on her mind.
"no! it doesn't! what would make me happy is you being far away from me!" she replied loudly
everliegh pushed on his chest, punched him, slapped him, but he wouldn't stop holding her. she looked up at him with a masked expression. she tried to look angry and frightening, but he could see through it.
she was sad. she was heartbroken, and he was the cause of it.
"everliegh, im sorry," he whispered
if he could reverse time, he would. he wouldn't have cheated. he wouldn't have even talked to that girl. elliot would have stayed by everliegh's side forever. but he couldn't change time, and everliegh was leaving him.
"if words could fix everything, we wouldn't need laws or the police. your words are empty and worthless to me," she spat
everliegh attempted to free herself once more, but elliot wouldn't budge. he shook his head and buried it into the crook of her neck. normally she would have teased him for being cute, but she couldn't now.
"you must have thought i was a joke. a girl that had a hard time opening her heart. you thought you could play with me. i should have noticed," everliegh sneered coldly
"no, i would never. i love you. im sorry," he whimpered
"that's a lie,"
she knew it wasn't a lie. she could read his thoughts and tell that he was just as hurt as she was. he was regretful and guilty, but she didn't want him to apologize out of guilt.
"stop saying sorry," she complained
he lifted his head and stared into her blue eyes. he would always get lost in them, like a man getting lost at sea. but today, her eyes were stained with tears and dark like a cloudy sky.
elliot's own eyes were also teary. she couldn't help but think that he was beautiful in that moment. she had always thought he was ethereal. it was astonishing how good looking he was.
suddenly he leaned in. she barely had time to react. everliegh turned invisible out of embarrassment and ducked under. she slid out of his tight grip and ran away.
her tears stung against the harsh wind, but she kept them wide open. her mind kept telling her to look back at him one last time, but she wouldn't. she couldn't.
because if she did, she would run right back into his arms. -
everliegh stirred from her sleep and rubbed her tired eyes. she pried her eyelids open and looked forward. her eyes widened and her jaw dropped. she was wide awake now.
"step out of the vehicle," a man called out
all around the car were police with their guns pointed right at the car. everliegh looked to her side. she saw georgia with her jaw set. everliegh nodded at georgia.
without any more conformation, georgia stomped on the pedal.
