Cory's POV

I shot forward, swords whirling. Percy met both of them, and slid my right hand to the side, forcing me to jump back. But, I knew I caught him by surprise, because I Jumped right back and ducked under, knocking his feet out from under him.

"Cory look out!" I heard a voice behind me. I didn't take the time to turn. I just jumped to the side, getting m left sword, 'Stygian Night' was twisted out of my arm, and I was left with NightShade, that didn't bother me in the slightest. Stygian Night de-materialized, and I dodged an attack from Jason as Percy got up. Nico shot past me and rolled under the duo, aiming for Percy, I shot towards Jason, blade raised. The bigger teen deflected my shot and held my sword there with his.

While Jason and I were held there, Nico had fought Percy off and he was out. So, now it was Nico and I vs. Jason. This was gonna be fun. Nico hit Jason in the leg which left him to buckle, but he ducked under Nico's next shot and held mine again, standing back up.

Nico and I bounced back, and we both jumped back in, twisting side to side, moving in and out. I kept trying to make my attacks unpredictable, but angled. Jason nicked Nico's arm, but that didn't stop me as Nico held out a bit. He was out. It was me and Jason now.

The blonde and I moved back and forth, weaving in and out of each other, barely missing, and blocking. I cut Jason's cheek, but the cut was much too small for him to be out, so we kept going. I saw an opening and held a sword up to his chest where he slammed his up at mine, we both pushed back and forth, waiting for another opening on each other, even if it's small.

I was the first to jump back, Jason slashed his sword down to where I was, so I rolled under him legs, and to the other side of him. I went for his legs, but then realized my mistake. He was expecting that because after I'm about to get up, I usually go for the knees of ankles. Jason whipped around and slammed the end of his sword into my chest, sending me sprawing in the dirt.

I gasped as I sat up, clearly out. My focus just wasn't in fighting him that much, my adrenaline was pumping, just not as much as it usually is. Nico sprinted to me. "Are you okay?" He asked, kneeling down. I nodded, slowly pulling myself up and refusing his hand. He shouldn't touch me, for, reasons. Jason ran over with Percy, apologizing. I shook my head holding my hand up.

"It's fine Jason, it was a small hit nothing bad-."

"I'll be the boss of that," We all turned to see Will, who was standing at the edge of the arena, eyebrows raised. "Well then, looks like you four need some patching up, c'mon let's go." He waved us over, and we followed, me farther than the other three. It was just a bruise, not a cut or something, I was fine. I didn't need any help.

When the four went inside the Med Bay, chatting, I slipped off. Pulling my jacket back on, I already felt cold without it, despite it being summer and my blood was pumping. I let my sword hang at my belt and strode around camp, wondering what to do.

As I walked to the edge of the forest, I heard a rustling in the trees, and whipped my blade out, senses alert. I saw a shape shift and break into a run, I thought about chasing after it, but decided that it was probably only one of the campers trying to play a trick on me. So I sheathe my sword and made my way to the Pavilion, where Chiron was calling an announcement.

It wasn't much, just him telling everyone of the Carnival in 5 hours, and that we could do whatever for that time period. People were very excited to say the least. Me? I didn't care, so I walked around until I found a shadow under a tree. "Cory!" I heard a voice beside me and a hand on my shoulder. I jumped in surprise and accidentally Shadow Traveled with whoever was with me. I had to grab their hand, but it burned, like, bad.

So when we landed on the floor of Cabin 1, I yelped and pulled back, my hand was burning of black mist, so was my shoulder. Whoever grabbed me mumbling, 'ow' over and over again. I looked up to find a mop of blonde hair and blue eyes in front of me; Will Solace. I was grabbing my left wrist as it burned, and the mist started to go out. My shoulder went out too.

"Wh-What was that. " Will asked and I rolled my eyes, but the faint sting was still there.

"I don't know much about it, I've only had it once before. Besides, don't I tell everyone NOT to touch me?" I turned to Will, a stern gaze resting on him. The blonde fidgeted a bit before nodding and asking what it was and how I got rid of it. I shrugged, but I was hurting on the inside, because I knew full well why I had it again. "It comes when my soul, and my being has a hunger for human contact. It's what, happens when- happens when, when I, uh, don't feel so happy. Like, when someone I'm very fond of, will never be fond of me back." Will stared at me for a bit, and I continued, looking away from him. "As for curing it. I uh, need to come into physical contact with the person, I'm uh, fond of." Will nodded slowly.

"Does that happen to everyone who touches you?" I nodded.

"Pretty much, besides Nico, but that's because we're twins, we share quite a bit of the same DNA. But he doesn't get the condition when I do." Will nodded again.

"Okay, well, who are you fond of?" Now, this was gonna be the hard part. I looked away.

"No- No one you'd know. It's fine, I'll worry about it." Will once again gave me another one of those stares. Suddenly, his eyes glazed over and he gained this far-off look, a bit of anger and sadness washing through them. I waved a hand in his face and he snapped back.

"Sorry, I just, remembered why I wanted to see you." I held up a hands, gesturing for him to continue. "Well, Nyssa and I, didn't work out. She was nice, but I just- I don't know. I really thought she was, you know, the one. But, feelings fade and I was tired of it." I nodded to him, hope burning in my chest. Will sighed, "I want to just, you know, be happy. If that's too selfish to say, is it?" I responded immediately.

"No, no it's not. There's a difference between living and breathing. What's the worth in life, if there's nothing worth living for? You gotta have someone to live for, someone or something to drive you. You can be alive, you can be breathing, but are you really living? If that makes sense?" Will nodded quickly.

"Yeah, it does actually. I think I might know who's worth living for?" I raised an eyebrow, asking who. Will gave me a cheeky grin. "And you'll never know, until I find out whether they like me or not." I groaned and turned to him.

"If it Jaden?" Will snorted.

"He's a great friend, but boyfriend? Nope. I thought it was, you know, Jaden and you." I shook my head.

"Nah, he's a great person, and all, but, I, uh, like someone else." Will nodded in understanding. He asked more things about me, and I quickly turned the conversation towards about him after I answered a couple of his questions. Like, favorite color, and favorite season, subject in school, and would you rather questions.

=========================================

We kinds stayed like that, for a while, well, 4 hours and 46 minutes to be exact. Just talked. Turns out, Will's not as annoying as I thought. Oh well, not like I care.
