Stereotypical Gemini

The green haired girl stared into the distance, sitting on the floor. She looked at the sky without stars. Soon, she'd seen the actual sky once more, full of stars that she missed. She believed in the meaning of the stars and wanted the answers of the universe in them.

"You keep looking at the sky." The purple haired girl walked next to her and leaned on the nearby wall, trying to figure out what was so fascinating.

"I feel like I lost purpose without it." Unako answered, sighing softly.

Mia eyed her weirdly as she tried looking harder. It did seem blank, but she never paid much attention to the sky while she was alive. It didn't make much of a difference here.

"It's just a sky. Nothing special." Mia answered, not getting it, but interested in her explanation.

"It's not 'just a sky'. The stars can tell you a lot about you and your future." She explained, very interested in the topic.

Mia raised an eyebrow and gave off a grin. Unako frowned, seeing she wasn't taking her very seriously.

"I'll keep my knowledge to myself..." She mumbled, crossing her arms.

"No, no, I'm interested." Mia kept grinning and sat down next to her.

Unako eyed her suspiciously. She never really did like Mia. She had a pathetic disposition that nothing mattered and she kept acting like it didn't even bother her. Her pessimistic and cynical attitude always bothered her, working with her in a team was always something she had to swallow to manage. She sighed and decided to tell her some things, she didn't have much to lose.

"It depends on the astrological sign you were born in." Unako explained.

Mia let out a laugh that annoyed her very much.

"So this is horoscopes?" She didn't take her seriously one bit.

"You don't even understand half of it." Unako kept getting annoyed with her harshness.

"Make me understand then, dolly." She pushed her lightly, but it wasn't so light to Unako.

She couldn't help but glare at the taller woman, thinking just how childish she actually acted for her supposed age.

"Fine. Let's start with the date you were born in."

"5th of June." Mia answered, looking like she couldn't wait to laugh at Unako's face.

"Interesting. You're a very stereotypical Gemini." Unako concluded.

Mia didn't quite like the word stereotypical used to describe her, but she let it slide for the sake of the disbelief she already felt for this.

"You're adaptable, hate routine, energetic, learn quickly..." She continued to name her characteristics.

"That's a nice coincidence." Was Mia's only comment, her grin showing her sharp fang.

She looked down upon the much smaller Unako. Not only was she much shorter, but she was much skinnier to top it all off. Unako glared up at her, Mia not taking her seriously in the slightest. She got very offended, instead of just knowing Mia didn't take anything very seriously. She had a very fragile ego it seemed.

"You said you'd listen!" Unako raised her voice, her cheeks getting a bit red from Mia blatantly laughing at her face.

"I am listening, dolly. I never said I'd take you seriously." Mia deadpanned.

Unako, instead of giving up, she decided to try and change her mind. She knew Mia was very stubborn and that she wouldn't change her mind about anything. It amused her to no end that Unako was even trying to change her mind instead of just getting the gist that Mia seriously didn't care much. If you made the best argument in the world, even if she agreed, she'd still outwardly disagree with you. There's no point in proving her something.

"You were born the 5th. In numerology, the number 5, as a day of birth, is the number of people that have these traits: analytical, temperamental, quick minded, impatient, irresponsible and so on." Unako told her, feeling proud of her knowledge, she was assured Mia would listen.

Her face fell when she saw the same grin on her face, now even wider.

"Sounds like a very uncanny coincidence." She repeated the statement, knowing it would piss Unako off.

"It isn't a coincidence! Even the Gemini's lucky number is 5! It's too thought out to be coincidental!" Unako yelled out slightly, her intelligence was at stake and she was doing everything to protect it.

"I sure am a lucky one." Mia concluded, making jokes at her wonderful life.

"I'll prove it, just-" Mia cut her off, getting bored.

"Look, even if it was correct, it doesn't fucking matter. That's the point." Mia concluded, starting to get up.

"How isn't it important!? We have so much systems and ways of thinking, it has to be correlated to something!" Unako continued, although it was pretty futile.

"The sky and the stars are so important that we don't even have them here. What do we correlate upon then? The dirt? Or do we just not have personalities now?" Mia cut her off, looking more serious and annoyed now.

Unako kept quiet. She really didn't know what to say to that. She needed to think about this and do extra reading.

"Odd, because I sure do feel full of stupid personalities." Mia said sorrowfully as she crossed her arms.

Unako understood then. She seemed so bitter and annoyed all the time, it looked like she couldn't wait to destroy all the happiness and meaning she found on herself and other people.

"You're so angry at everything... I mean, this may not work for you, but find some other meaning somewhere at least." Unako told her, somewhat softening up after Mia's last sentence.

"Nothing matters here. We don't have consequences." Mia answered, looking like she was at unease as she looked at her arms, scratching them a bit too harshly.

Unako knew what she meant. She looked at the floor as well. Trying to hang herself... Was a very pathetic thing to do, she understood now. But she was at least trying to find something by breaking out. She had nothing left here.

"Is that why you're breaking out?" Unako questioned, nosy as always.

Mia was quiet. For a moment, she looked pained and guilty, but it was soon replaced with a look of anger and disgust. What she was angry or disgusted by, Unako could only wonder.

"It's not." She grumbled an answer before turning around and leaving, stomping away angrily with her fists clenched tightly, not looking at her once.

Unako felt like she understood her more now. She thought Mia was just a bitter and sarcastic girl that liked to ruin everything for everyone. But now, she felt oddly sorry for her. She never thought about her much, but her suicide... It made sense now. She didn't know what to do with her new found understanding of her, but she was leaning in on the idea of helping her in any way she knew. It's what Alex would want...
