He didn't know why he did this. Adrien walked in circles in the middle of the night, nervous about everything that he did and could happen. He said he didn't care for his job, but centuries worth of good work... He sighed for who knows which time. He was tired of it, but he didn't want his progress lost. He continued pacing, continuing to think intently about this.Daylight came pretty soon. He was surprised, it came quickly. He grumbled under his breath as he sat on the couch. He got too caught up in his head way too often and sleeping during the day was an immoral waste of time. When he thought about it more, Hell didn't even actually have time, he didn't know why they counted days and nights. To give a sense of security? They weren't fooling anyone, he scoffed.
He thought about the implications about yesterdays event. They could cover it up somehow... He cursed himself for blowing off their offer for being a leader of this world. If they knew what these Judgers were, it would cause up a huge commotion. This was such a bad idea to begin with.
Alex crossed his mind. At least he wasn't hurt. He hadn't seen him at least. Unako wasn't there either, as long as he could remember. He hoped they haven't figured out anything yet. That would end badly.
His thoughts were interrupted by the female he had in his house that finally woke up.
"Boy, I got more sleep than I got a whole year." She stretched herself, looking ten times more fresh.
Her eyes were now completely purple and her hair was almost completely orange. She kept making a lot of facial expressions, although she was much more robotic than a normal person. Like she was just learning to let go of a rigid posture.
Adrien didn't answer her at all, just continued thinking, somehow wanting to distract himself from her. He didn't know how to act around her and figuring it out wasn't worth thinking about currently.
"Have you even slept?" She asked, sitting on the couch next to him.
"I don't need it. A good night's sleep is a social construct." He answered, annoyed she was distracting him.
"I thought so too until I slept good twelve hours now. You should try it, maybe you'll be less grumpy." She let out a little laugh, like she found his extreme nature funny.
She was acting very comfortable around him. Like she knew him. He tried to make himself annoyed by it, but he couldn't. But he didn't need it. She'll just distract him.
"I'll go do my work in my room dear, where I can be grumpy at peace." He said almost harshly, but she found it funny.
As he stood up, he got surprised when she yanked his hand, which made him fall back down on the couch. She laughed a very loud laugh as she looked down at him. He was never this taken aback in a long time. The way she acted so comfortable made him scared.
"I don't mind you being grumpy." She grinned, like she was very much trying to make him soften up and tease him.
He stood up in a much quicker pace, looking serious. He disliked this, but he couldn't explain exactly why.
"I do mind you being this comfortable. You forget who I am." He stated harshly, but she didn't seem fazed, like she exactly knew what he was trying.
"Do we know each other?" She questioned suddenly, that also caught him off guard.
He got frozen for a second. They did. They knew each other very well, a long long time ago. So long that he couldn't remember much. He was starting to though and it was distracting him from his thoughts. He shouldn't have done this, but he still felt like it was the right choice.
"We don't." He answered, sounding harsher than he intended, but she wasn't fazed once again.
"Weird, I concluded otherwise." She teased him more.
Why did she challenge him? She was so annoying.
"And how did you come to this conclusion?" He cursed himself, he shouldn't have gotten interested.
"I don't know how to explain it other than that I feel weird around you. And I keep remembering things connected to a person that looked like you..." She trailed off, looking at him with a small grin.
He looked at the floor, looking uncomfortable. He was hopeful that at least she didn't remember. It seemed like all hope was gone.
"I have a common face, I doubt that I know you." He answered dumbly, hating how incompetent he was acting currently, just because of her.
"That's a bad excuse that I feel great disappointment towards." She laughed once more, he tried hiding that he laughed a bit with her.
"I don't want to dwell on my past, dear, it'll distract me." Adrien answered honestly to her, he didn't even know why.
"Why did you invite it in your fancy mansion then?" She asked, making this very hard for him.
He kept quiet for a few seconds as she watched him with a very amused and challenging facial expression.
"I don't want it destroyed." Adrien gave an answer.
"But you can't avoid it when it's in your face, Adrien." She looked up at the taller man, expecting a reaction from him.
He just shook his head with a smile. He rubbed his temples a bit with his usual sigh.
"You always did prove me wrong." He gave up, but not completely.
"Did I?" She looked very satisfied with what he was saying.
"Of course you did." He smiled at her, looking like his emotions were finally hitting him.
"What's my name, Adrien?" She asked, feeling like she'd finally remember something in the way she wanted.
"Eleonore. Your name is Eleonore." He answered, looking surprised at himself.
He didn't say that name for so long. He tried forgetting her and he managed. After what happened to her, he lost human contact. He didn't know if he imagined her existence. But now he didn't feel like it, he was sure in his feelings.
She looked the same. Like she was remembering who she was. As she did, he saw her eyes get teary once more. She looked up at him with a confused face, a tear going out of her left purple eye. He could only smile and hug her. He didn't want to notice his eyes getting teary. She cried in his hug, he tried to control himself, but he barely did. He wiped away one tear that managed to slip, but calmed himself down quickly. He needed to stay composed, he couldn't comfort her without him being calm. But all he could feel was immense happiness, yet more nervousness about losing her again.
