Hyunwoo

After earning several glares and stares from other customers, I stopped pushing Kihyun on the cart. Kihyun smacks my hand to reprimand me. We went to the vegetable section of the supermarket first. Kihyun picks up a head of napa cabbage and scans it to see if there is any flaws. He discovers one, so he puts it down and picks up another. He looks at the bottom and saw that the center is white only. Then, he looks at the leaves to see if any of them withered or something. He nods to himself and puts that one into the cart. He looks over the others and picks up another. He checks it over, but one leaf was really bad. He puts it back, but not properly enough. It falls off the pile. I quickly caught it and put it back

Kihyun looks at me with wide eyes and said, "Nice catch."

"Thanks," I said smugly.

"Ugh, get over yourself," he laughs as he takes another napa cabbage out of the pile.

"Whatever," I snorted. He rolls his eyes and puts that one into the cart too. Then, he walks over to where the potatoes were. I followed him with the cart in tow. He rips off a bag from the roll of plastic bags that is on a metal stand. As he selects the best ones, I found myself staring at him...admiring how 'homely' he looks.

"Take a picture. It will last longer," he says suddenly.

"Nah. Why would I need to when I have the real deal in front of me?"

"S-to-p i-t," he stutters. He hastily puts two more potatoes into the bag and puts it into the cart. He walk away to the meat section of the supermarket. I smiled as I thought he is very cute when he is embarrassed or feels shy. By the time I got there, he throws a packet of ground beef and a bag of beef chunks into the cart.

"Okay. Done," he says and walks down the aisle to his right. When we got in a check out line, I put all of what is in the cart onto the conveyor belt. The cashier begins to ring us up when it was our turn. When he finishes scanning our items, I went to get my wallet out from my backpack when I heard a distinct beep. I looked up to see Kihyun holding his phone against the P.O.S. system. "It's the 21st century, Hyung," he says before exiting out of whatever app he had on and locked his phone. The cashier presses some buttons before handing Kihyun the receipt. Kihyun thanks the cashier.

The bag boy hands him our bagged groceries. Kihyun thanks him before walking toward the exit. I followed suit while pushing the now empty cart. I put it away and jogged to catch up with Kihyun. I take the bags away from him and grabbed his hand with my other hand.

~at the Yoo's house~

"Where's your mom? She is usually home at this time."

"Umm...she will be back later," he answers as he walks toward the kitchen.

"Oh...," I said as I took a seat in front of the kitchen island. He puts the stuff we bought in front of me before going to the fridge. He opens it and takes out a few things before closing it and setting it where the rest of the food was. "You can cook?"

"Yeah...can't I?"

"Of course, you can. I just didn't expect it."

"Well now, you know that I can," he says as he brings the potatoes to the sink to wash them.

"Do you need any help?"

~after prep is done~

I glanced at the clock and noticed that it was already 6:00p.m. Mr. and Mrs. Yoo were still not home. "Weird," I mumbled to myself.

"What did you say," Kihyun asks as he puts a pot with water on the stove and turns on the fire.

"I was just wondering if your parents are working overtime since they aren't home yet..."

"..."

"Wait..."

"Huh?"

"They aren't coming back home today, are they," I asked as a sneaking suspicion that he is making dinner for us only.

"They are. Just later on...," he trails off and suddenly becomes more focused on cooking. I went over to him. He freezes when he senses that I am standing right behind him.

"Thank you," I whispered into his ear after I wrapped my arms around his waist and placed my chin on his shoulder.
