Kihyun

~Christmas morning~

As I begin to wake up, I felt someone running their hand through my hair. I open my eyes slowly to see Hyunwoo staring back at me. When he notices that I am awake, he smiles and says, "Merry Christmas, Ki."

"Merry Christmas, Hyung," I yawned and then rubbed at my eyes with the back of my right hand, which inadvertently made the blanket go down to my chest. I shivered at the sudden lost of warmth. Hyunwoo grabs onto the blanket and pulls it up higher before tucking it under my chin. I smiled softly at this gesture and snuggled closer to him.

I sighed out of content and took in a deep breath thus inhaling the scent that is so uniquely his. He tightens his hold around me slightly and presses a kiss to my forehead. "Come on, Ki. We have to go open the presents," he says.

"But, I don't want to leave the bed! It's so warm," I complained and then pouted. He looks at me and then chuckles.

"Uncle and Aunty are probably waiting for us downstairs already. It's already lunch time," he says.

"What?! It's noon already?! No way," I shouted out of surprise and sat up so I could look at the alarm clock on my nightstand. It indeed was nearly noon. "Yah! Why didn't you wake me up earlier," I demanded and smacked his chest lightly. He covers that hand with his left hand and squeezes lightly.

"I didn't want to wake you up. You look so...adorable," he smiles gently.

"What a sweet talker," I scoffed and rolled my eyes at him.

"Only for you," he says and then winks. I pretended to barf because he was being so cheesy already. "Let's go get ready before it gets any later," he continues to say and then sits up.

~thirteen minutes later~

~downstairs~

"There you two are. I was being to think that I should return the presents," my mom chuckles.

"Sorry, Eomma. Someone here didn't wake me up," I said and glared at Hyunwoo, who only smiled. We took a seat on the floor near the trees opposite to my parents.

"Ah, young love," she says dramatically and puts a hand over heart.

"Areum, stop teasing the kids," my dad says while shaking his head.

"Okay. Okay. So, are we ready to start opening presents," she asks cheerfully. We all nodded. She takes a present wrapped in red and white wrapping paper with a red bow on top. "This is from me," she says and hands it me.

"Thank you, Eomma," I smiled and began to open it. Inside was several bottles of expensive spices. "Oh my god! Eomma, these are-," I paused before continuing to say, "I always wanted to try cooking with them. Thank you."

"No problem, baby. I knew you had your eyes on them but didn't want to waste money to buy them. So, I decided to get them for you," she replies. Then, she takes another present with the same wrapping and hands it to Hyunwoo.

"Thank you, Aunty," he says and was about to open his present.

"Aunty? I think you can call me, Eomma, now. After all, you are dating my son," she laughs. I gasped involuntarily.

"Err...thank you, Eomma," he says as he rubs at the back of his neck. Then, he proceeds open his present. Inside the box was two pairs of swimming goggles and swim trunks.

"Here is my present for you two," my dad says and hands us both a small box wrapped in ice blue wrapping paper.

"Thank you, Appa," I said and began to open my present.

"Thank you, Uncle," Hyunwoo says.

"You might as well call me Appa too," my dad chuckles and pats Hyunwoo on the shoulder.

"...Appa," Hyunwoo says a bit shyly. I smiled brightly as my parents had allowed for him to call them so intimately.

"Well, go on now. Open the presents," he says.

"A wooden duck," I said in a questioning tone as I was surprised to find a wooden duck inside. I turned to my left to see that Hyunwoo had one too but it was a different color.

"A matching pair...I made them myself," he says and seemed to be about to tell us how he did.

But, my mom cuts in and asks, "Shouldn't you bring in your present for my son right now?"

"Huh? Oh, yeah," he says and then turns to me. "Close your eyes and don't open them until I say so," he says to me.

"You're not going to pull a prank on me,right," I asked him with an eyebrow raised.

"Of course not."

"Okay then," I mumbled and closed my eyes. I hear him get up and walk away quickly. A few minutes later, he comes back and I can hear him set something down in front of me.

"Alright, open your eyes," Hyunwoo says. I opened my eyes and found  a present wrapped in gold wrapping paper. I tear off the wrapping paper and uncovered a photo album. I open it and saw that it contained photos of us from when we were toddlers to now. "It might not be much. But, I know that you like sentimental and wholesome stuff so I decided to make a photo album of us," he says.

"It's beautiful, Hyung. Thank you," I said after looking back up at him and took his left hand into mine before squeezing it slightly. "Oh, you should look at what I got you," I said and turned toward the tree. I grabbed the red wrapped box from under it and handed it to him. He opens it and reveals the pair of bracelets with our initials on them.

He takes them out and thanks me for it. I was about to take his and put it on for him. But, he seemed to be thinking the same thing as he brings my right hand closer to him and slipped on my bracelet. I blushed as it almost felt like he was proposing to me. Then, he was about to put his own but I smack his hand away and took the bracelet from him before putting it on his left wrist.

When I looked up, I found that he was looking at me with a fond look in his eyes. I subconsciously bit my lower lip and looked away. Then, he holds my right hand with his left and brings my hand up to his lips before kissing the back of my hand like how a prince would do to a princess.
