Ch. 122: Saved but Scarred

Kihyun

~a few minutes later~

Just as he was about to enter me, the door leading to the basement bangs open and I can hear many people storming down the steps shouting police. Jihyeok gasps loudly and gets off the bed. He tries to find something to fight of the police but he gets tackled to the ground. 

I couldn't see what happened to him next. However, judging from the sounds, he was being put into handcuffs. "Oh my god," a familiar voice says as he comes closer. It was Donghae. "Quick. Grab his clothes. I'll untie him," he says before doing that. "Can you move," he asks. I shook my head.

"There's only a pair of boxer and pants," an officer says. 

"Just help me put it onto him," Donghae says. After that, Donghae picks me up and carries me out of the building that I was trapped in and subjected to...rape. I'm saved.

Hyunwoo

~one hour and three minutes later~

~at a hospital~

"Kihyun," I shouted as I entered his hospital room. When Kihyun's parents saw me, they gave each other knowing looks before exiting the room. I ran over to him and was going to grab his hand but he suddenly hugs me and starts to cry.

I wrapped my arms around him as I sat down on his hospital bed. "It's okay. Hyung is here now. You're safe," I whispered as I gently stroked his back. He hides his face against my neck as he continued to cry and shudder. Each tear and shudder pierced my heart. We stayed like that for god knows how long before Kihyun asks hesitantly, "Did they get him?"

"Yes, Baby. And, he will be locked up for a long time," I answered. And, he will never come near you again. I swear. 

"Really," he asks in a shaky tone.

"Yes," I confirmed. 

"...can you stay here with me," he half stammers half asks before holding me closer like he was afraid that I would disappear once he lets go. 

"Of course," I replied in a fond tone. I'll always be right here next to you. Always and forever.
