Hyunwoo

I looked at him confused as to why he had kissed me suddenly. He notices and points upward. I looked up to see a branch of mistletoe hanging there. When I looked back down, Kihyun was hiding his face behind his hands. I chuckled lightly and moved his hands out of the way before pressing a kiss to the tip of his nose.

Before anything more could happen, someone behind us cleared their throat. Kihyun stammers an apology before dragging me out of the maze. He pats his cheeks and mutters, "How embarrassing."

"More like they were being rude. Ruining the moment," I said after sighing.

"...come on, let's go get some hot chocolate," he says thus changing the subject at hand. We walk over to the stall that was selling it and got ourselves two cups. It had whip cream, chocolate syrup, a pair of mini candy canes, and a plastic snowman. Kihyun goes to take a sip but grimaces immediately. "Hot," he exclaims and sticks his tongue out to cool it with the night air.

"Ki, you have to wait for it to cool down a bit before drinking it," I chastised him.

He merongs me and says, "I just wanted to have a sip to warm up."

"Do you want my jacket?"

"No, then you would freeze."

"I would rather freeze than let you brave the cold."

"So greasy," he snorts and shakes his head.

"Are you sure that you don't want my jacket?"

"I'm fine. The cold doesn't bother me that much," he replies as he looks around. "Oh, let's go once around before heading back home," he says. I nodded in agreement and took his left hand into my right hand. After we had walked a lap around and taken a few more pictures, we began to make our way home.

Kihyun had kept close to keep himself warm all the while sipping on the cooling hot chocolate. I had put our joined hands into my pocket. We made small talk all the way back. When we arrived at Kihyun's house, we saw that Mr. Yoo had finally decorated the outside of the house like how Mrs. Yoo wanted. Kihyun takes out his key and unlocks the door.

We went inside and immediately closed the door after us. The warm air from the heater courses over us making us better. After taking off our shoes, we walked deeper into the house. His parents were sitting on the couch watching the news. "We're home, Appa and Eomma," Kihyun says.

"Welcome back," they both said without looking back at us.

"Did you two have fun," Mrs. Yoo asks.

"Yeah, the displays were so pretty," Kihyun says.

"Did you take photos? I want to see," she asks with a sparkly look in her eyes.

"We did but I don't know if they turned out well. I'll send some good ones to you later," Kihyun replies.

"Okay," she says.

~30 minutes later~

We had taken a shower and put on some warm clothes before getting comfortable on the bed. Kihyun has his head on top of my chest and is scrolling through the photos that we had taken on his phone. "Oh, that's a good one," I said when he got a picture of both us with our eyes closed.

"Sure," he says sarcastically before deleting that photo. A few pictures later there was several of us making funny faces. I could tell that Kihyun was laughing as he was shaking slightly. I rolled my eyes and brought my hand to his hip before rubbing circles on it with my thumb. His breath hitches for a second before it resumes its normal pace.

After he had got rid of the ones he didn't like, he sent some to his mom before locking his phone and putting it on the bed next to me. I pull him closer to me sharing my body warmth with him and then pulled the blanket over us some more. He cuddles closer and starts to hum a song that sounded like a lullaby but wasn't one at all.

I used my other hand and started to toy with his fingers. In midst of it, I can see the bandages on his wrist. I clenched my jaw when I recalled why it was there. I brought that hand up to my lips and pressed a kiss to it before returning it to where it was earlier.

"It's okay. You don't have to blame yourself for this," Kihyun whispers.

"But-"

"It isn't your fault. I just-...can we not talk about this anymore," he asks in a soft yet sad voice.

"Do you remember when we were kids and we went out to the field after it had rained? We would play around in the mud and get all dirty. Our parents were furious when they saw us covered head to toe in mud," I said thus obeying his wish.

"Oh! Yeah! But, it was fun tho," he chuckles.

"Man, I really thought we would never hear the end of it as my Eomma is a real neat freak."

"That's for damn sure. Ooh, do you remember when you got in trouble for pouring milk on...umm...what's her name... you know who...because she pinched me in elementary school," he trails off as he couldn't remember who it was.

"Ah, I think her name was Jihyo or something,"  I replied.  From there, we kept talking about old stories until we both felt sleepy and there wasn't any tension in the air.
