2. Zombie and the Party

"ooohhhhh" everyone exclaim in a perfect harmony with eyes stuck on the wide screen.

"Holly...crap" Jasey muttered, squeezing the popcorn bowl as the actors run around with zombies behind them, bringing huge chainsaws and butcher knives with horrible noises and incredibly eerie back sound.

"Office time is so much more enjoyable these days,” Meg whispers to Jasey in squeaky voice before she jumps at the sudden movement in the screen.

"Matt is definitely the best boss ever" Jasey responds, chewing her handful of popcorn before her eyes went wide in surprise as one of the actor got hacked brutally by one of the zombie’s heavy weapon.

Since Matt became the new boss, office time has been very interesting. Sometimes he makes some fun games at Fridays; sometimes it is Movie Time. Once he even brought a piñata to the office as a present to a birthday co-worker. Everyone ends up spending the entire evening smacking the crap out of the piñata and munching the cookies and little cakes it gave out. To think about it, it was actually a pretty nice evening.

"Your phone's vibrating" Meg nudges her, looking at her sideways.

Jasey – having not paying attention to anything – suddenly feels her tight vibrating. She pulls out her phone before standing up and leaves the room reluctantly, standing outside the meeting room.

"Alex, I'm busy!" she says silently, looking over at the screen with her nose sticking to the glass door.

"With what?"

"Job!" Jasey says in a 'duh' tone. Then a collective ooh and aah and whoa is heard through the room.

"Or watching movie" Alex adds, chuckling. Jasey feels the rush of blood to her cheeks, busted.

"Anyway...what do you want?"

"Come here, I'm lonely" Jasey can instantly imagine Alex's brown eyes widened in an effort to make puppy dog eyes.

"No! I'm resting tonight" she states, shuddering at the horrible scene on the big screen where parts of human bodies are chopped and a Zombie sucked on a girl’s brain.

"Come on...don't you want to feel me?" Alex purred

"Call Jack" she chuckles at the sound of Alex groaning, "why do people like to think we bang each other? "

"Well with you two kissing on stage and doing some weird umm…scenes in videos it's hard not to think about that"

"Well..." Alex mumbles, clearly speechless since she’s not entirely wrong.

"I have to go back to my Zombies" Jasey says, looking at the main character and her partner got cornered in a room.

"Jasey don't leave me,” Alex squeals in an overly dramatic voice, earning a quick laugh from Jasey, "Go satisfy yourself” she whispers seductively, “You know what to do…”

“But…” Jasey cuts Alex before he finishes his sentence, “Bye, Alex” Jasey cuts the line and puts her phone back to her pocket before stepping back into the meeting room where the main characters are making a fight to the zombies.

“Who was it?” Meg asks much too curious.

“It was Alex” Jasey answers nonchalantly, snatching back her popcorn bowl from Meg’s hands. Meg sends her some looks but she drops it once the movie’s climax starts. The ooh and ahh and whoa continues till the very end when the two main characters bail out of the cursed place and the camera zooms in to a picture of a zombie’s hand moving around.

Once the people in the room splits themselves up after some banters and laughs and some discussion about the horror-thriller movie they just saw, Jasey dials Alex as she gathers her stuffs up to go home. She feels bad for hanging up on him like that, but it’s so noisy when Alex finally picks up his phone.

“Hey, Rude!” Alex says in a mocking tone.

“Sorry, the zombies are just too enchanting”

“More than I am?” he chuckles, then someone snatches his phone away.

"HI! I’m holding something you'd like" Jack’s voice is almost childlike.

"Hey, Jack. I'm coming over right now. Where are you guys?" she grabs her jacket and purse from her desk.

"Jack's place. We've prepared the beers, thought you'd like some"

Alex’s voice is back, “I told you I was lonely. So I get Jack to gather everyone”

Zack's voice then came out saying that one of the beer is leaked and get spilled all over the floor, then Rian screams, saying that he has got the towels. She chuckles, "Oh that’s just smart. Hang on there. Don't finish the beers without me,” Jasey presses the lift's button several times. The lifts here are so slow, one thing she hates the most about this building, aside from the fact that it's very boring and stuck up. Oh, and the lift’s music is horrible too.

"What floor?"

Jasey looks up to the now open lift; Matt is standing there, holding the lift open. She quickly steps inside, "Lobby please"

"When will you get here? I'm not sure we can spare the beer if you're taking so long" Alex says, before another noisy voices boomed out of the phone.

"Just a second, Alex" Jasey keeps her voice down, after all – however fun and friendly Matt is – he is still her boss and she doesn't want to make a bad impression to him. After all, she just got promoted; She doesn’t want to look bad.

"Your boyfriend?" Matt asks

"Uh...no. He's my friend" Jasey smiles politely. He raises his eyebrow slightly but doesn't say anything else. The noises across the phone are getting louder; she couldn’t hear anything specific anymore. She hangs up the phone – again – because she’s not sure Alex will hear anything she has to say anyway.
