3. The Game

Alex stares at his phone, looking annoyed and amused all at the same time. She just hung up on him for the second time today. He was about to rant to her about how she neglected him which is not exactly wrong as it is not right; but then she just hung up right after a guy’s voice was heard through the phone. Have she taken any interest to another guy now?

“Whatcha doin?” Jack peeks over Alex’s shoulder with curious eyes.

“Nothing” Alex turns around, snatching Jack’s beer

“Did she just hang up on you…again?” Jack grins mockingly, taking back his beer from Alex, “Oh you poor lonely boy. What are you going to do without me?” he slid to the sofa, sitting next to Alex.

Alex shot Jack some looks, which he only replies with a low chuckle.

“You remember the first time we met her?” Alex suddenly asks, looking thoughtful with distant eyes. Jack shrugs nonchalantly, taking another huge gulp of the beer before saying, “Sure. She’s lost, isn’t she?”

“And then you both meet up again and you perverts start to do each other” Jack laughs.

“It is not like that! Come on, we’re not that filthy”

“Oh really?” Jack gives Alex a look, “yeah well at least you guys don’t show off like that…couple over that” Jack hinted to his left.

Alex looks up to see where Jack was pointing. There he saw Rian and Cass sit on the loveseat, Cass would giggle ridiculously from time to time when Rian closes their distance and whispers something. Alex rolls his eyes; he’s kind of used of seeing that since he forgot how long. They’re always acting ridiculous around each other as if they’d never get bored of one another.

“And look at Zack” Alex mused, looking over how the opposite those guys can be. While Rian gets all romantic and stuff, Zack is singing loudly, dance like a madman, and his laugh would boomed from time to time. He’s always been the loud drunk man and he’s actually fun to watch.

“Oh poor Vinny, I’m going to go over there” Jack rushes off, leaving his half-full bottle of beer on the coffee table to join the guys over the corner and help Vinny to get out of Zack’s bear hug.

Alex is musing over his immature friends when suddenly he feels a light blow on his right ear, making him shudder and almost jumps out of surprise.

“Don’t sneak up on me like that!” he faces the grinning Jasey.

“You don’t even notice me when I open the door! How cruel!” she chides, sliding to the empty spot next to Alex.

“You are the one who hang up on me rudely twice” he said in a straight tone. Shooting her a sideway-look.

“Oh come on! Don’t be that sensitive; you’ve got yourself a party here! Give me your beer” she snatches away the beer from Alex’s hand.

“So…how’s the zombie?”

“It was a really weird film, but it was mesmerizing as well. You should see the film sometimes. I think you’d like that” she raises the bottle as she inches closer to him, “there was this group of young teens getting all stupid and hang out to a really deserted place, and as a result they get eaten by zombies”

“So…how’s that more interesting than my company?” Alex looks down at her, smiling accusingly.

“Because I can get your company every time I want to get it” she bats her eyelashes flirtatiously.

Alex smirks at her answer, inching closer to her even more, “you will not get your rest you know”

“Oh I figured that out the moment I decided to come” she returns his smirk, whispering close to his lips, “I’ve figured you out” she pushes her lips to his and playfully bites his lower lips softly, then pull away completely all of the sudden making him looks at her with an unsatisfied look.

Jasey gets up off he couch and walks towards the guys over the corner, “I’m going to join the party over there if you don’t mind” she smiles devilishly.

“Oh so that’s your game?” Alex raises one of his enormous eyebrows. Jasey shrugs with a little smile, “What game?”
