“Alex are you ready?” Jasey pokes her head into Alex’s bedroom. He’s standing in front of his mirror, straightening his shirt, smirking at Jasey from the mirror, “Relax, babe, we still have time”

Jasey walks back and forth inside Alex’s room, unrolling the things that they have to do over and over again, “…Remember to act like we belong together…but don’t overdo it! We should hold hands…shouldn’t we? What do couples do? We should act like we are crazy in love…talk about small things and such…Act natural. Oh my gosh, what if we got caught…Matt will laugh at me…”

“Jasey…” Alex walks to her, sitting her down on the bed, “Relax. It’s not my first date, I’m going to know what to do” he winked

“But what if he asked our personal stuffs and I couldn’t remember?” Jasey’s face red with panic; she doesn’t like this situation. She is not used to tell a lie as big as this one and she’s afraid of things that will give her away.

“Just calm down…and don’t panic,” he says again, taking Jasey’s hand towards the door.

The restaurant Matt chose is a pretty classy restaurant. Jasey has to clutch on Alex’s arm so that she wouldn’t trip over her skirt and heels. When they arrive, Matt and Meg are already there, chatting with small burst of giggles from time to time. Jasey feels more nervous than ever, Alex has to practically drag her so that she wouldn’t freeze on her spot.

“Relax, Jasey. I’ve got this,” he whispers, planting a small kiss on her forehead for a show as Matt and Meg are watching their entrance.

“Good evening” Jasey manages to say with a big bright smile, Alex grins lazily next to her, pulling the chair for Jasey.

“Good evening, you guys look lovely” Meg smiles.

“You look lovely as well” Alex says with a sweet, made up voice.

They quickly order dinner and as soon as they finished, Matt’s calculative eyes are already assessing Jasey and Alex.

“So, how long have you been friends with each other?” Matt jumps into interrogation, Jasey sighs a sign of relieve, that’s an easy one.

“3 years…is it?” Jasey tilts her head to Alex who nods calmly.

“3 years and so much more, babe” Alex smiles ever-so-sweetly to her, making her heartbeat increases unreasonably and Jasey almost certain she was blushing.

“How do you guys first met?” Matt asks again, sounding sincerely curious

“Eh, it was a festival…Alex found me when I was lost” Jasey smiles upon the memory. She was so scared that time and she was almost sure she would never find the exit gate.

“She was gaping around” Alex chuckles.

“Oh shut up” Jasey elbows him, giggling.

Meg raises her brow; “you guys are really into each other huh” she smiles. Jasey flushes, looking at Alex from under her eyelashes; Alex returns Meg’s smile, “of course we are, if we are not, I wouldn’t have asked her to be my girlfriend”

Whoa, Jasey thought, Alex really is a pro in this kind of things.

“So, have you gone on a date?” Matt asks again

“Eh, we haven’t had any dates, we just got together you remember?” Jasey flashes him a smile.

Jasey sighs a sign of relieve when the food came and they have to stop their conversation. Jasey eats happily, glad that Matt can’t interrogate them while they are eating. Alex sits beside her like nothing is wrong, like it’s just some usual night while Jasey feels like she will break down and confess everything any moment. Jasey wonders if Alex had done this thing before…

“How’s the transition from the friendly feeling to that romantic feelings?” Matt started when the foods are almost all gone.

“Don’t be silly, I will never feel that way to Alex” Jasey says indifferently. Alex’s eyes went wide, kicking her ankle under the table. Realizing her mistake, Jasey chokes on her wine, “err…I mean before…I mean before I realized I have it. I mean I may have feel it but never realize it before so there’s no big change or anything,” Jasey quickly corrects herself.

“Nice safe…” Alex whispers, chuckling to himself.

“Right…” Matt replies Jasey with a suspicious tone in his voice.

“She’s shy, it’s hard for her to admit that she loves me” Alex’s voice is smooth and sly, Jasey nearly choke on the L word, while Meg cooed at him. Alex puts his arms around Jasey, pulling her close, “It took me such a long time to get her to admit that, but what I get now worth every second of my waiting” Jasey blushes scarlet red as Alex gives her a quick peck.

Matt doesn’t have anything to say anymore after that little scene.

“You’re a pro,” Jasey mumbles as she flopped on Alex’s couch, throwing her heels away. Alex laughs, sitting next to her.

“I am a natural, babe” he turns the TV on.

“I swear; your future girl would be the luckiest girl ever. You’re such a sweetheart,” she cooed at him, putting up her feet onto his lap. Alex eyed her oddly, flicking his eyes from the TV to Jasey’s face.

            “What about you, then?”

            “Me?”

“Yeah, are you going to ever have a real boyfriend?”

Jasey fell silenced. She has never considered anything about a real boyfriend; she doesn’t even have any image of a boy she’d like to date. Real boyfriend…would she ever have one?
