“Hello”

Matt pokes his head into Jasey’s office, grinning widely. Jasey looks up from the file in her hands, smiling obligingly at him.

            “Good afternoon”

“Are you going to have lunch?” he walks over to her, hands in his pockets, trying to act casual.

“Yeah, Meg and I are going to eat at the new Italian restaurant. Do you want to join us?” she asks out of mere polite gesture but Matt beams at her question although it goes unnoticed by Jasey.

“Sure!” he sits on the chair in front of Jasey’s desk.

“Okay, Meg is going to be here any minute. I’ll just have to finish this last file” she turns her attention back to the file in her hand, vaguely notice Matt’s gaze.

Jasey tries to focus on her work but she couldn’t help but remember the embarrassment she felt when Alex told her that she snuggled to Matt while she was drunk. Apart from that though, Jasey can feel Matt’s gaze and she has to shifts uncomfortably. She peeks through her file, looking directly at Matt’s gaze. He flickers his eyes instantly, fiddling with a piece of cube from Jasey’s desk. The air is filled with awkwardness, Jasey prays for Meg to come silently.

“JASEY” a loud, high-pitched voice came from the hallway, Jasey sighs quietly, relieved to hear Meg’s voice.

“Are you ready to go? I’m famished”

Meg halts and nearly trips on her heels when she sees Matt. Her jaw drops open.

“Uh…Hi” she waves timidly. Jasey hides her smile, Meg’s face is crimson red and she takes stiff steps closer to Jasey’s desk. Matt returns her wave with a grin, “Hello. I’m joining you to lunch”

Meg’s jaw drops open, she looks at Jasey, asking for explanation. Jasey only shrugs at her.

“Is that alright?” Matt asks again, seemingly confused by Meg’s reaction. Meg nods at an instance, almost too eager. Jasey suppress her laughter.

“Let’s go now” Jasey stands up, closing up her files, and grab her purse.

The restaurant is small but it has a ‘home’ feeling to it. Jasey instantly likes the restaurant.

“Hello, do you want to order now or do you need some time?” the smiling waitress greet them, handing them three menus.

“We are going to need some time,” Meg mutters, eyes flicking between her menu and Matt. The waitress nods too happily and disappeared.

“Have you decide on what you want to get?” Matt asks, looking at Jasey expectantly.

“Yeah, you?” Jasey is still focusing on her menu.

            “Yeah”

The waitress came back with a huge, animated smile. She nods at every choice Jasey, Meg, and Matt make.

“I will be back shortly” she smiles again, then disappear behind the door.

“So…” Matt coughed, “What do you like to do in the weekends?” the question seems to be directed towards both Meg and Jasey, but his eyes are stuck on Jasey.

“Eh…I’m usually out with my friends” Jasey tilts her head, wondering what she usually do all weekends. She’s almost always at Alex’s or the studio they were recording at. Basically she spent most of her time with Alex and the guys.

“I like to go to the cinema” Meg chimes in.

Matt turns to Meg, starting to talk about the latest movies. Jasey listens to them swiftly, not really taking every information, as she is not really interested. Matt turns to talk to Jasey from time to time but Meg would lead the conversation away again.

“You see?” Meg sits on the chair next to Jasey’s desk. They had finished their lunch and are back at the office. Matt turns back to his office after several moments of chat, taking information from Jasey.

“See what?” Jasey munching on her gummy bear, flicking through her computer nonchalantly.

“Matt” Meg pulls her seat closer to Jasey, “He’s totally into you” she adds, almost making Jasey chokes on her gummy bear.

“That is the most absurd thing you’ve ever said”

“Come on! His eyes are glued to you, he direct all conversation to you, what other clue do you need?”

“Maybe he’s just curious” Jasey mumbles, shifting uncomfortably on her seat.

“He like you” Meg adds, pouting at her own words.

“It makes me uncomfortable to think about it okay” Jasey points out, “he’s my boss, I don’t like it of he really do likes me” unconsciously, Jasey remembers about Alex. She shrugs out the thought, doesn’t really understand why Alex comes into her mind.

“You’re wasting your chance” Meg sighs, “he’s cute, smart, and he’s fun”

Jasey looks sideways to Meg, smirking at her, “You have a crush at him”

Meg’s face turns into crimson red, “Yes” she admits with low voice, “I actually have a huge crush on him,” she adds, hiding her face in her hands.

Jasey laughs, she actually couldn’t remember the last time she had a crush. It has been a long time, she wonders if she would be able to actually find one someday.

Jasey turns her computer off, stretching on her seat. It’s almost six o’clock she should have gone home by now. She picks up her purse and jacket. Walking to the lift, pushing the button several times.

The lift’s doors open up with a ding. Matt holds the door open and she walks in, smiling courteously at him. Matt fiddles, looking like he wants to ask something but doesn’t really have the guts to.

“Um…” he starts, Jasey turns to look at him, looking at him questioningly.

“Uh is it okay if I ask you something rather…personal?” he asks, looking like he would faint sometimes soon.

“Sure” Jasey takes pity on him.

“Do you have a boyfriend or something?” he asks eventually.

Crap, Jasey thought. Why does he want to know about such thing? Is it true what Meg told her? She curses quietly.

“Yes” she chimes out, surprising both Matt and herself. Crap.

“Uh, I just got a boyfriend recently” the lie comes out smooth from her lips. Her brain processes the lie. Why did she lie anyway?

“Oh…” Matt looks like someone just punches the air out of him, a clear disappointment is obvious.

“What’s his name?” he asks again, more quietly.

“Alex.” she blurts out without really thinking.

Triple crap.

Next chapter would be in Alex's POV it would be a flashback (again) to the day he first officially know Jasey's name and be friends with her and the first 'slip out' which means it would be a tad bit 'sexy' ehe ;)
