Raph x child reader *request*

hi!! sorry I haven't uploaded in a while, I had to take care of some things irl (: but now I'm back!

this was requested by @S203324 , thanks! the reader is around 8 years old in this fic, but other ages work as well.

You had always been lonely, no one seemed to understand you. At school you were always cast out by the other students and even though you tried to make friends it never worked. 

After weeks of trying in your new school, you eventually gave up on ever having friends. That is until you met your superhero and best friend, Raphael.

Flashback 3 weeks ago;

The teenage brothers were out on patrol, they had busted some kraangdroids and also managed to stop a robbery. They were all heading back to the lair pretty soon, but they took some time to have fun on the topside. As they were all goofing off and having a good time, Raph couldn't help but be worried.

Earlier, when they were fighting the kraangdroids, Raphael had heard a soft gasp coming from someone nearby. He had looked in the direction, and saw a small child. It made him panic slightly but he quickly regained his posture again and continued fighting the kraang.

He didn't see where the child went, but he knew he had to find you again before you began telling people about them. 

So, when his brothers decided it was time to go home, he asked for permission to stay up a bit later than usual. Leo gave him a warning look and told him no not be home too late, something he quickly disregarded with a quick 'yeah, yeah'.

After looking for 30 minutes, he found you sitting alone on a rooftop. You were shivering and he suddenly began feeling protective of you. He was very cautious when he first approached you, he had never had a conversation with a young child like yourself before and didn't know how to act. 

At first he was scared you would be scared of him, but you recognized him as one of the turtles who fought with the weird aliens. You immediately liked him.

He offered to give you warmth, as you were shivering, and he awkwardly held out his arm. You giggled and leaned against him. He didn't help much with the warmth, but it made you feel much better anyway.

End of flashback

It had been 3 weeks since that night, and ever since then you two ha met up almost every single night. He would always go on patrol with his brothers, but as soon as they went home he went straight to your rooftop.

At first he was a bit shy around you, not quite sure how to act. But as you guys started talking more and more he started to become much more relaxed and opened up to you. He told you about pretty much anything, his brothers, his sensei, his ninja training, his hobbies and everything in between. In return you told him about your school and your family, but when it came to friends you had nothing to say.

He had taken your small hands in his and said softly "if they ever treat you wrong, tell me and your big brother Raphael will take care of it, alright?" you had never seen him so serious before, except for the time you first saw him fighting.

He made you feel safe and you looked up to him as a older brother, and you couldn't have asked for a better friend in the whole world.
