Project 45 (pt 2)

"Calm down Leo!" Donatello shrieked, "you aren't making any sense." 

Leonardo stood quiet for a few seconds, his hands on his hips as he tried getting his breathing under control again. When he finally calmed down enough he was met with 4 pairs of curious eyes. 

"There.. there was a girl in there." he said, dumbly. The rest of the turtles and April were dumbfounded, not understanding what he was trying to say. 

Raphael growled. "You're kidding, right?" he asked despite himself, feeling curious as well. 

Leonardo shook his head frantically and put his hands down on the table, his face serious. "No, guys, I'm being totally serious here. There was.. a human girl in one of the cells." 

4 collective gasps could be heard throughout the kitchen. "Well, t-then what are we waiting for? Let's save her!" April finally spoke up after a deafening silence. Michelangelo gave her a loud "yeah!" in return.

They all started to get ready to reenter the lab when Donatello stopped them. "What is it this time?" Raphael asked, clearly impatient and ready to fight. 

Donatello sighed and smacked him cross the head. He waved the chip he had picked up in the lab in front of their faces. "Shellbrains, don't you want to find out what this chip has to say about the lab? For all we know the whole lab could be filled with hidden traps all over!" 

Leonardo let out a quiet 'oh' and cleared his throat. "Well, how long will that take Donnie? We don't have forever you know, that girl could be in danger as we speak."

The group followed Don suit to his lab where he had his laptop charging. The genius shrugged. "Not sure, chips from the kraang usually only take a few minutes to crack into. The translation take such longer though.." 

The leader sighed a deep sigh, putting a hand on his purple banded brother's shoulder. "How about this, the rest of us go back to the lab and try to rescue her while you stay and here and translate the chip." 

Donatello wanted to protest, but he knew time could be precious and eventually agreed to the plan. Just as the other were about to leave though, April spoke up. "Hey guys?" the others turned around to listen to her. "I think I might stay down here with Donnie, just for safety purposes. In case some bad guys come down here and he needs help.." she started fiddling with her hair, her lie very obvious. 

The three brothers smirked when they saw Donatello blushing madly, and they decided just the three of them would be enough for the mission. "Alright, stay safe dudes!" Michelangelo yelled out as they ran out of the lair. 

When the three turtles arrived at the lab again, Leo gave them strict orders. "We're only here for the girl. We can go back and save the others when Donnie finds out more about hidden traps and stuff, but for now our only goal is saving the human. Got it?" The others nodded. 

"Raph, I want you to take Mikey with you to take care of any kraang coming our way. I'll get her out of the cell during the meantime." The others nodded again. 

"Less talking and more rescuing!" Raphael demanded, and so they began their plan. 

Raphael and Michelangelo kept themselves on high ground, so they could more easily see if a kraang was nearing their bother, but also so they could get a clearer view of how the lab was built. 

Leonardo on the other hand was keeping very low, hiding behind any wall or object he could find. He tried being as fast as possible, but it was hard to not get noticed.  

When he finally arrived at the cell he was instantly met with the eyes of the girl. She seemed scared, but she kept on staring as he put his blade through the glass to make a crack. He put a finger in front of his lips to signalize to her that she needed to be quiet. She complied. 

When Leonardo deemed the crack to be good enough, he turned around and gestured to his brothers in the ceiling. They nodded, ready to take care of any kraang that might be alerted. 

Leonardo took a long, last look at the girl before he threw his entire bodyweight onto the glass, directly on the crack. This caused the whole glass wall to collapse, and he hurried inside so h could pick the girl up bridal style. Despite being told to keep quiet, she couldn't help letting out a yelp. 

Some kraang had heard the crash of glass, but they had been quickly taken care of by Raphael and Michelangelo before they could cause any more harm to the girl. 

Leonardo, who was carrying the girl in his arms, caught up to his two brothers who had started running out of the lab as soon as they knew the girl was rescued. The poor girl had gotten so scared, she passed out in Leo's arms. 

He obviously couldn't run as quickly as his brothers, since he was carrying extra weight that he needed to be careful with. This gave him the chance to study the girl better though, and despite her horrible condition she was very cute. Her tiny freckles made Leo blush slightly. 

'I should be thinking of ways to rescue the rest of the mutants in the lab, not think about cute girls! Gah.. I'm so stupid.' he thought, as he quickened his pace. 

While all of this was happening , Donatello was quickly typing away at his computer. He had almost translated everything from the chip when his eyes widened in chock. The last sentence had been translated, and it was nothing like he had imagined. 

"Oh my god." he whispered to himself, April sitting beside him with the exact same expression on her face. 

He turned around to face her, and gulped. "Do we tell the others about this?" he asked her. 

She didn't reply. 

sorry, this one's a bit shorter than usual. I want to save some stuff for the next part!
