I sat anxiously in my chair, fiddling with my pencil and eyeing the clock at the far end of the classroom. There i was, sitting in last period counting down the minutes until spring break. I had completely forgotten about what the teacher was talking about since I zoned out half an hour ago.
anyone staring at me for even a fraction of a second would think that I was crazy, with that huge grin plastered on my face. I couldn't help it though; in a matter of minutes, I would be getting a week off from school AND would be going on a trip with 5 of my closest friends ever to the nearest big city. This was considered as a huge thing for me at least, as my strict parents would never allow me to sleep over at a friend's house, let alone in a complete stranger's house for a week! But after many months of convincing, they finally broke and agreed to let me go.
The bell had finally rung and that glorious sound sent a wave of energy surging through my body. I quickly gathered my things and bolted to the door, texting my friend Jawahir about where we should meet.

I smiled brightly and shut my phone off before making my way to the parking lot. Once I'm out in the open air, I see Jawahir and the rest of the boys by Seungyeon's car. They were all talking and having fun but Seungyeon was the one my eyes always turned too. Though I've had a crush on him for the longest time, I've never had the chance to tell him, despite us both being in our senior year. I shook those thoughts away and made my way towards them . I put my stuff in his trunk. I look back at the group, all immersed in a conversation about our plans. Jin Hyuk took control and simplified the plan.
"Okay, okay! this is how things are gonna go; We're gonna drive to our AirBNB right now so that we can get there before dark." Before he could continue, my voice cuts him off. "I call shotgun! Yeon promised me, right?" I looked at Seungyeon to which he smiled and nodded for approval. Jawahir sulked as she playfully punched his arm. "That's not fair! She doesn't even have good music for aux!"
Seungyeon laughed as he put his arm around me as I felt my heart beat faster. I tried my best to not let out my emotions and watched as Seungyeon continued to speak. "Sorry Jawa, but (Y/N) has been my #1 bestie since day one. You can still have aux, you'll just be sitting in between Hyunbin and Hangyul."
I let out a laugh as Jawahir just muttered to herself in disbelief while Jinhyuk continued his plan. "I brought enough food for the ride there and for the night. Tomorrow morning, some of us will drive up to buy food in the morning that will last us the week. Now that we had all that done, lets go!"
The 6 of us piled into Seungyeon's car as we pulled out of the school's parking lot and out onto the road. Halfway into the drive, I turned around to see everyone passed out, leaving me awake to keep Seungyeon company while he drove. "I guess they didn't last long. This is the first time I've seen them knock out so fast." Seungyeon chuckled, still keeping his eyes on the road. I took my phone out and tried to find a song to play when Seungyeon's voice broke the silence in the car.
"Can I request a song for you to play right now? I've been wanting to hear it for a while but haven't gone around to actually listening to it." I nodded and open the search bar. "Anything you want bestie" Seungyeon looked back at the others and smiled, the light glistening in his eyes as he said "'All of me' by John Legend". I felt my stomach turn into knots at his song suggestion as I simply nodded and played the song.
Why out of all the songs in the world, did he have to chose the most romantic love song in history??
My thoughts were interrupted as I heard an angelic voice singing. I turned to see Seungyeon softly singing along to the song, as if he were singing to someone. Before I could ask, I felt my eyelids become heavier as Seungyeon's honey-like voice lulled me to sleep.

The next day, I woke up to complete darkness. I looked around me and realized I was in an unknown place. "Must be the AirBNB..." I muttered to myself, half asleep. I turned on my phone to check the time. '4:30 AM.. The sun hasn't even risen yet.."
I got out of the bed I was mysteriosuly placed in and made my way to the kitchen. As I was pouring a glass of water, A voice called out for me. I turned around and saw Seungyeon in his sweatpants, his hair messed up due to him waking up abruptly. "Hey, I guess someone is awake now. You were supposed to keep me company idiot. I had to drive the remaining half hour by myself."
I smiled sheepishly as an apology, drinking the water that was in my hand. "That's your fault. You made me fall asleep with that song" I remembered him singing in the car and looked back at him. "I didn't know you could sing that well"
Seungyeon rubbed the back of his neck and shrugged. "It's not anything special. I guess I was practicing for when I sing it to the girl I like. I can't wait for you to meet her."
My heart broke at the sound of those words. I couldn't help but let my tears get the best of me. Seungyeon became worried and rushed to my side. "Hey (Y/N)!? Are you okay!?" I nodded, wiping my tears away and smiling through the pain. "Yeah, its just allergies. You know how they get this time of year. But I'm happy for you. When do I get to meet the lucky girl?"
Seungyeon smiled as he saw some light coming through the window. "At sunrise today; which is right now, so let's go!" I felt him tug my arm as he led me towards the washroom.
She's here!!? Did she come when I was sleeping? Or maybe it's Jawahir? He did look back before he sang the song...
While I was stuck in thought again, I felt two hands cover my eyes and everything go black. "The morning light shines best through the bathroom window" I heard Seungyeon say "So when the sunrise appears, you'll see the girl I fell in love with." I felt another pang hit my heart as I slowly nodded my head.
I heard him counting down the seconds and even after he removed his hands, I kept my eyes shut tightly. "Yah (Y/N)! Hurry up and see her!" I sighed in defeat and slolwly opened my eyes only to be greeted by my reflection. Through the window, I could see Seungyeon smiling brightly.
"Lee (Y/N). I like you. I always have. I'm sorry for waiting until the last possible minute to tell you, but I couldn't live my life properly knowing that I never got to tell you how much you mean to me. Life is too short for me to keep waiting so I won't." I began to tear up again, but out of joy this time. Without saying anything, I wrapped my arms around Seungyeon tightly.
"I like you too idiot..I'm sorry I took so long to tell you." Seungyeon's smile became even brighter as he held my body close to his. "I'm so glad I had to beg your parents for 4 months straight even if it meant I got a whole week with you all to myself."
I blushed slightly but hugged him tighter, agreeing to his statement. "Me too.."
