I had walked into the large gymnasium to see many athletes prepping for the competition. It was the semifinals for the Seoul Taekwondo Tournament and my friend, Jawahir, came with me so we could both support my boyfriend, Yohan.

We found a pair of empty seats near the front as I glanced around the large room. Many teams were stretching, preparing themselves for the long day ahead of them. I scanned the room until my eyes landed on the one I've been looking for. There, in the far corner by himself with his headphones on, was Yohan stretching before he went up.

I told Jawahir I'd be back soon as I made my way down the stairs. Once I got closer, I wrapped my arm around his as I saw him step back, startled from the sudden touch. However, once he noticed it was me, that bright smile I always loved came onto his lips as he pulled me into a tight hug.

"Hey! I'm so glad you could make it!" I smiled and broke away from the hug. "Of course. I wouldn't miss this for anything else. I had to witness my boyfriend take home the gold medal."

Yohan chuckled at my comment as he put away his headphones. "That is if I win. But looking at these other guys, I don't know if I stand a chance (Y/N)."

It always made me feel terrible to see Yohan put himself down like that. I intertwined my fingers with his as I tried to calm him down. "Listen to me: you have trained your ass off for the last 5 months for this tournament. There is not a doubt in my mind when I say that you're going to be walking out those doors with a gold medal. Have some faith in yourself. You got this."

After hearing my motivating words, a bright smile returned to Yohan's lips as he pulled me in for a deep kiss that was quickly ruined by his coach calling him over, indicating the tournament was starting. After saying a quick good luck, I made my way back to my seat.

Hours had gone by as I watched Yohan make it through the preliminaries and semifinals. It was now the final match and his opponent was backing down easily. It became messy with the opponent beginning to play messy while Yohan stood his ground, trying to keep things fair.

After watching them fight for what seemed like hours, the tournament was over with the referee declaring Yohan as the first place winner. The crowd erupted in cheers as I stood up, cheering the loudest. I'm the midst of the commotion, Yohan's line of vision met mine as he sent me a quick wink before going in to claim his medal.

It was late afternoon with the gymnasium close to empty, the remaining teams already on their out. Jawahir had left early as I sat in my seat, waiting for Yohan to come out. Finally, he came out of the changerions, his shining gold medal adorned proudly around his neck.

I smiled as I climbed down and gave him a hug, congratulating him on his victory. "See! I told you that you were going to win. You just needed to believe in yourself." Yohan smiled and took my hand in his as we left the gymnasium. "I never properly thanked you (Y/N). If it weren't for you, I couldn't have won."

I scoffed, nudging him playfully. "Please, you gâtines so hard for almost half a year! I'm sure you wouldn't have won without my crappy speech."

Yohan stopped and planted a soft kiss on the back of my hand. "Through all my training and even today, my motivation was you. So, I literally couldn't have won without you. Thank you."

I smiled, moving closer to get rid of the space between us. Once our lip met, we we're finally able to finish the kiss that was interrupted earlier. After breaking apart, I smiled as we continued to walk. "Now let's go get something to eat. I'm sure you're as hungry as me."
