I walked around the large studio, trying to find where the trainees would be on standby. I had arrived an hour early before the shooting of the first episode of Produce X 101. My boyfriend, Seungwoo, would be participating with another one of his members from Victon as an attempt to let their names be known.
After wandering around for what seemed like hours, I found Seungwoo standing at the side with Byungchan. I smiled brightly and made my way over, my presence already being seen by him. He returned the smile and pulled me into a tight hug. "Thank you for coming... I needed the extra support." I pulled away and handed him and Byungchan a small box. The two looked back at me, curious about what was inside as I gestured them to open it.
Upon removing the top, it showed a ring with their group logo and initials. "I got them for the entire group. I was going to wait until Christmas, but I think today would be a good day for you guys to have it. Think of it as good luck." Overwhelmed with their emotions, the two boys tightly hugged until I couldn't breathe. Once they let go, I looked around for a washroom. "I'm going to go freshen up. You guys keep practicing."
As I made my way to the bathroom, I greeted the other trainees and wished them good luck. After taking care of my business, I exited the washroom and went to see what the boys were up to, only to find IZ*ONE's Chaewon with her arm around Seungwoo. I rose my eyebrow, trying my best to suppress my anger as I walked over to where they were, the fakes smile present on my face.
"Seungwoo-sunbaenim! I've always been a fan of yours. You're always been such an inspiration." I watched silently as her grip on Seungwoo's arm grew tighter and more intimate. "When I heard you were participating in this season of Produce, I knew I had to come here and wish you luck, personally." After hearing that, I simply scoffed and walked away before I handled things more physically.
While walking around backstage in attempt to cool myself down, I watched as tall male come up to me in need of help. He wore a large name tag that read 'Hwang Yunseong' and I knew right away he was a trainee. "Excuse me miss, have you seen a girl by the name of Kim Chaewon? She's my girlfriend and said she was coming here to support me but I haven't seen her yet. You're a staff member, right?"
I shook my head, apologizing for the inconvenience when I remembered who he was talking about. A smirk made its way to my lips as I linked arms with him and told him to follow me. "I think I know exactly where your girlfriend is.." Once the two of us returned to where Seungwoo and Chaewon was, I watched as she was becoming more comfortable around him. "Seungwoo oppa, I should treat you to a meal. You know, as a way to thank you"
Before Seungwoo could speak, I cleared my throat to get their attention. "Kim Chaewon. I think your boyfriend here would like you to support him rather than his potential competition. I'll focus on Seungwoo like a proper girlfriend, so why don't you do the same?" Chaewon widened her eyes, embarrassed about the current situation as she quickly said goodbye to Seungwoo and left with her boyfriend. As I smiled to myself feeling accomplished, I turned back to see Seungwoo with a disappointed look on his face.
I frowned as I took his hand in mine. "You don't get to be mad in this situation. She had her arm around you and wanted to take you out for food for a competition you haven't even won yet! I get to mad Seungwoo, not you" Seungwoo let out a frustrated sigh as he intertwined our fingers. "She was just trying to be nice to me Haera. She didn't want to threaten you." I scoffed as I let go of his hand.
"You may be older than me, but you don't know girls Han Seungwoo. We're nice and sweet but there are girls who go after what they want. And that can be a good thing but she was flirting with you? If you would've said you had a girlfriend, she would've stopped and wouldn't have needed to be embarrassed." I felt my voice crack as I continued. "Do you not want me anymore? Would you like it better if I left?"
Seungwoo's eyes widened as he cupped my face in his hands, gently stroking my cheeks with his thumbs. "Listen to me Choi Haera: I want you. I need you. I can't lose you and it's my fault. I guess I was caught up with the fact that someone like her who was famous was a fan of mine. I messed up and that was unforgivable. But, can you forgive me?"
I smiled and nodded as I planted a kiss on his smiling face. "Never forget Seungwoo. You are someone who is amazing with unbelievable skills. You will be amazing in the competition. I have faith."
