I had walked into my entertainment building and greeted the staff at the front. After taking the elevator up, I met up with my manager and the CEO of the agency. They both gave me warm smiles as they gestured me to sit.
I returned the smiles and sat as my manager began to speak. "So Mio, with your successful debut and your fanbase growing each day, the CEO and I think it's time for you to do some group activities."
I furrowed my eyebrows at the statement. "Group activities? I'm a soloist though. How am I supposed to have group activities?" The CEO stepped in and began to clarify things with me.
"As you know, MNET has just finished their show 'Produce X 101' and the group X1 is to make their debut soon under this company. So, we wanted one of the members to accompany you to one of your variety show gigs. What do you think?"
I smiled and nodded in agreement to the idea. "It's perfect! And I already know which member I want to work with." My manager raised his eyebrows in shock. "Really? Who is it?" I leaned back in my chair, satisfied with my response. "Jo Seungyeon. He's the one."
I could see the confusion in my manager and CEO's eyes as I let out a laugh. "Trust me, we're real close."
[FLASHBACK START]
I was walking towards my class when I heard someone calling my name. I turned around and saw Seungyeon holding two cans of juice, beads of sweat on his forehead.
I waved back and saw him slow down as he reached me. He handed me one can with a smile. "Here you go. Orange juice is your favourite. And also.." I watched as Seungyeon took out my student card from his pocket. "You dropped it in front of your house. You really got to stop doing that."
I laughed at his comment and took my student card from his hands. "How do you see these things? Last time I remembered you live next to me, not with me." Seungyeon simply wrapped his arm around me and walked with me to the our classroom. " I'm your boyfriend you inconsiderate student. It's my job to know"
We both laughed as we continued walking. Once we reached our seats, I turned to face Seungwyon. "Hey Yeonie.. what is your dream?" Seungyeon looked at me and smiled, a far off look in his eyes. "I want to sing. I want people to enjoy my music and enjoy listening to my voice and watching my performances."
He looked at me and proceeded to ask back the same question. "How about you Mio? What's your dream?" I smiled back as I looked at him. "I want to sing too. More than anything in the world." Seung-youn nodded and raised his juice can, gesturing me to do the same. "To accomplishing our dreams and becoming the best goddamn singers in this country!" I laughed as we both clinked cans and continued our conversation.
[FLASHBACK END]
My manager had dropped me off at my shoot that I would be doing with Seungyeon. We would be shooting together and I couldn't help but feel excited. In my hand, I held a can of Seungyeon's favourite can of juice.
I felt my butterflies in my stomach as the stylists began to get me ready for the shoot. It has been a while since I saw Seungyeon and we haven't spoken to each other in a while. Since he was on Produce X 101, we both agreed we should keep distance for his sake.
Once I was ready, I exited my dressing room and began to search for Seungyeon's. I was roaming the halls of the studio when I heard a familiar voice call my name. I turned around and saw Seungyeon waving at me with a smile on his face.
I was overwhelmed with joy as I watched him walk towards me. Once he was in front of me, he deeply bowed. "Hello sunbaenim! It's going to be great to work with you today." I let out a laugh and playfully hit his shoulder. "Hey, don't call me that. It feels weird."
Seungyeon winced in pain but laughed as he nodded. "How long has it been? 3-4 months?" I nodded and remembered the can in my hand. I extended my arm in his direction. "Your favourite. I felt like it was the only proper way to greet you after a while."
Seungyeon took the can from my hand and let out a deep chuckle. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion as I watched him take out a can of juice from his pocket. "Guess great minds think alike, huh?" I smiled brightly and took the can from his hand. We both began to drink from our cans as we walked to the set.
"I guess we both finally debuted Yeon.. we did it." Seungyeon nodded in agreement as he raised his can towards mine. "To my beautiful girlfriend.. who even though I haven't spoken to you in a couple of months, still continues to support me. I love you Mio."
I raised my can and clinked against Seungyeon's as I said a toast of my own. "To my handsome boyfriend, who is talented and worthy of being a singer. I'm happy people finally acknowledged your talent." We both exchanged a quick kiss before we walked onto the set to start our shoot.
