imagine #25 lee hangyul type: fluff request for; @introjins
»»-------------•°•°•-------------««
I walked into class, the room filled with students as I made my way towards my desk. I already saw my seatmate, Lee Hangyul, crowding the area with his friends. I rolled my eyes and simply placed my stuff down as I put everything in order. I turned around to leave only to have Hangyul block my way. He was dressed crudely with his uniform worn poorly. "Well would you look who it is? Miss (Y/N) being as organized as ever! I swear you're like a robot. Always computing but never talking" His friends around us let out small chuckles as I contained my anger.
With a strong kick to his shin, I was able to get away from Hangyul, leaving him to hop around in pain. I went out into the hallway and saw my friend Jawahir by her locker. I walked up to her and let out a sigh of frustration. Jawahir let out a small laugh, already knowing why I was in such a down mood. "Let me guess; Hangyul used the robot joke again." I nodded and slid down the wall of lockers until I was on the floor. "Am I being punished? Every year since elementary school, I was put next to Hangyul. I'm in my senior year and it's still happening."
Jawahir closed her locker and helped me up as we walked back into class. "Well, next year all of that will end. Just you and me on a university campus having fun." I smiled brightly and thanked Jawahir as I walked back to my desk. Our teacher walked through the doors with a stack of papers in his hand. He knocked on his desk to get everyone's attention as the students rushed back to their seats.
"Listen up! Mock exam results have been graded. Many of you did well. Others.." the teacher paused to glare at Hangyul who was fooling around next to me. I rolled my eyes as the teacher continued. "Did poorly and need to work harder if they even plan to graduate. When I call your name, come up and get your marks"
Once the marks were distributed, I went over to Jawahir to compare marks. "I got 87%. Beat that (Y/N)." I smirked and waved my paper in front of Jawahir, watching her smile disappear. "A 96%! That's the highest mark in the class!" I simply nodded and put my mark away. Jawahir began to sulk as she folded her exam in half. "Great, I guess I'll never beat you. If you got that on a mock exam, I don't want to know what'll happen when the real thing happens."
I laughed and tried to cheer her up when I heard my name being called. I turned around to see the teacher gesturing me to follow him. I nodded and said goodbye to Jawahir as I began to follow the teacher. Once we reached the teachers office, I saw Hangyul standing there, his eyes looking down the entire time. I stood next to him as the teacher began to speak. "Lee Hangyul has received the lowest mark in our class and possibly, the entire school. You have top grades and an amazing record (Y/N). Which is why I am giving you the task to help turn his grade around for the final exam. Will you do it?"
My eyes widened as I began to think of an excuse. Before I could say anything, I glanced to my side to see Hangyul's expression. He was distraught and hurt. I had never seen him look like that in my life. After making up my mind, I faced my teacher with a small smile. "It'll be my pleasure." The teacher thanked me and dismissed the two of us as I exited the office. Hangyul called out for me as I turned around. "Why did you.. decide to help me?"
I smiled at Hangyul and shrugged my shoulders. "I don't know. But I'm not doing it out of pity. I guess I'm curious." Hangyul furrowed his eyebrows as he looked away. "What could you be curious about? I could care less about school. I'm just the stupid class clown, right?" I shook my head, disagreeing with his words. "You were the stupid class clown. But I know you have a reason for that. For now, let's just focus on you passing." Hangyul nodded as we continued our walk to class.
Weeks had passed and every day I sat with Hangyul for hours helping him study. We would go to cafes, libraries and even to each other's houses on some days. Soon, the day of the exam had come. As I walked to class and headed to my seat, I saw Hangyul seated with his uniform properly worn and him going over his notes. I widened my eyes in surprise as I took my seat next to him. I looked over to him and tapped his shoulder to get his attention. Once I got it, I handed him his favourite drink. Through our study session, we got to know a lot about each other. I gave him a bright smile, wishing him good luck. Hangyul smiles, his face slowly becoming red. The teacher came in as we put away our notes and began to write the exam.
Once it was over, I walked out of the school with Jawahir when I heard my name being called. I turned around to see Hangyul running up to the two of us. He smiled and tried to catch his breath before speaking. "I wanted to say thank you for the help. You really didn't need to do that, but you did and I'm thankful for that. Is there anyway I could repay you?" Before I could speak, Jawahir cut me off. "Actually, you can take her out to eat? I was supposed to go with her but I got called into work last minute. Sorry (Y/N). You two have fun!" Jawahir ran off, leaving Hangyul and I to walk awkwardly to find a restaurant to eat at.
While we were walking, I decided to break the silence. "So, have you decided where you want to go for university?" Hangyul chuckled and shrugged his shoulders. "I don't even know what I'm going to do but I am going to the university that you and Jawahir are going to. It's just an undecided major." I looked at Hangyul, confused. "Wait, so why did you agree to the tutoring if you still didn't know what you wants to do?"
Hangyul smiled and stopped in his tracks so he could face me. "Well there was two reasons. The first was to make my mom proud. She's a single mom and has to take care of me and by tuition. I guess I didn't want her to work so hard so I gave up on school. But that day when you agreed to the tutoring, I went home that night and my mom was crying. It broke her heart that her only son failed and that broke mine. So, I promised myself that I would do my best to succeed and get the grades."
I smiled at Hangyul's story, my heart aching for his struggles. He continued on, taking steps closer to me. "The second reason was you. I thought it was annoying always being seated next to you. But when you decided to tutor me that day, I knew that you were different in that moment. I got to know you properly and you made me change for the better. I left my friends who are going to probably end up in jail or work at fast food. You and Jawahir were better friends then they ever were. That's why I took it seriously"
By that time, Hangyul was centimetres away from me. I could feel his breath on my neck as he looked deep into my eyes, looking for a response from me. I took his hand in mine and held it as tightly as I could. "I'm glad that I could help you. I'm sure that you made your mother extremely proud and when you go home tonight, she'll feel nothing but happiness knowing that her son is going to do something amazing with his life."
Hangyul smiled as he pulled me into a tight hug. I hugged back, continuing on. "And I'm happy that I'll be able to see you everyday on campus. I'm happy that I got to know you because if I just ignored you that day, I would have never been able to know the amazing person that is you." We both pulled away, dopey grins on our faces as we continued walking.
