"Ahaha, it tickles...stop!" Xiao Xingchen laughed as he held his stomach. Ever since they got together, Song Lan would always make sure he would be the happiest man on earth. Of course, Xiao Xingchen missed the quiet days when he could just be alone during his hard times, however this man pulled him out if that space and helped him back on his two feet.

"Tell me you love me," Song Zichen was the best husband anyone could ever ask for. Xiao Xingchen knew of it. They were friends when they were young and they slowly grew closer.

Especially after that incident.

"I'm very sorry Mr. Song, but after a few days, your eyesight would completely disappear."

Song Lan couldn't believe what he had heard. He worked as an artist, drawing traditional paintings and calligraphies. What would he do without his eyesight? How would he support their family then?

"Zichen, is something the matter?" At that time, Xiao Xingchen was his newly acquired boyfriend. After finding out about the news, would Xingchen leave him? Song Lan thought of the worst, but in the end, none of it happened.

He told Xingchen everything and the other man accepted it.

Their trust grew, as so their love. That was, until the hospital claimed a donor was ready to donate his eyes for him. The donor had signed a contract and would only need him to come to the hospital to take the surgery.

He refused, thinking that it might be too expensive, and he didn't want to be another burden for Xingchen. However, the hospital claimed that the donor had paid for everything. This made Song Lan think twice before agreeing.

If he could see his beloved's beautiful face again, he would risk anything.

That was the moment, when he noticed something wrong with Xiao Xingchen. He started acting weird, going onto a strict diet for a period of time, measuring a lot of scientific stuff he didn't bother to look at. He thought it was probably just something he had to do because of work, but Xiao Xingchen worked at home.

So why would he do that?

The moment he opened his eyes, the moment when he could see once more, was the moment he realized why Xiao Xingchen would do that. The man beside him was sleeping peacefully. But he noticed one thing.

His eyes were covered in bandages.

Song Lan was studying art. He needed his eyes... he also wanted to see his lover, but seeing his lover sacrifice his sight so he could see was something that made his heart throb. He promised Xiao Xingchen that he would stay with him forever.

"Xingchen," Song Lan nuzzled his head into Xiao Xingchen's shoulders, "I love you."

"Mhm," Xiao Xingchen grinned, "me too."

Although now Xiao Xingchen couldn't see, the two of them were happy together. Xiao Xingchen wrapped his arms around Song Lan, before pulling the other in a deep kiss.

Loving each other doesn't mean they have to see each other right?

A true lover would stay by you through thick or thin, even when a piece of you might never be there forever.

With just each other, they would be contented. They didn't mind anything else, they were both the only people in their world.

"Zichen, now you don't want to eat burnt food do you?" Xingchen smiled as he pulled away.

"You are just boiling potatoes! What could go wrong?" Song Lan smiled, whispering into Xiao Xingchen's ears, "but okay, make an amazing potato dish!"

"You'll eat it even if it's burnt anyways."

"True."
