Clary's POV

I'm sitting in my room, staring blankly at the wall. If Stephan would have been here with me today, alive, then I would be feeding him right now. It's been a month sense baby Stephan died, exactly a month. He would have been one month old today, and I can't stop thinking about everything we would have been doing together. I'm glad Jace is keeping busy hunting demons.. but I just can't seem to get up. Also, my mom has been missing for a month or so now and Luke hasn't heard anything from Maia or Bat yet. I just need my mom, by the time I get her back I'll be over it. Well, not over it as in forgotten, but hopefully I will be able to live with it. "Hunny?" Jace says from the door covered in blood and sweat.

"Yes love?" I reply back, as if it's a reflex.

"Just wanted to let you know I'm back." He pauses "do you maybe want to take a shower..? With me?" He asks pleading

I think about what that would lead too, and of course I want to try again. But with my mother missing and today marking Stephan's death.. it seems cruel. Then I realize that I have taken too long to reply. "And do..?" I simply ask

"Clary, it's been a month. Don't you think it's time we start trying again?" Jace asks. He has a point

"But that's the thing.. it's been a month. Exactly a month. He would have been a month old today... don't you think it's sort of morbid?" I ask him

"Yeah.. I guess." He sighs "I'll be in the shower."

"Okay.." I reply to him "I love you."

"I know." he says and walks to the bathroom

** time lapse to Maia and Bat **

Bat's POV

I kiss Maia as hard as I can against the wall. I pick her up and she wraps her legs around me. I let out a small moan. I nibble her neck up and down while she claws at my back, the way I love. She is pulling up my shirt so I push her up with just my hips and lift my hands up so she may take off my shirt. She succeeds and throws it aside. I'm trying to tell you." - " okay so she said that those two guys, the one that have been wanting her gone sense she had gotten the position in the first place, that they live in the mini golf course. So me, Bat, and Cesar went to go scope it out. When Cesar wandered off we went to go see what he was looking at. What he saw was a dead body, ripped in pieces. Above it written on the tree said "the dark lord is greater then anyone" - "yeah, but-" - "okay I know I should have told you as soon as we got new information. I'm sorry. It won't happen again." Then she hung up and looked over at me.

"Well?" I say

"Well what? He is just so grumpy. I'm sorry I was rude but he doesn't get to be snappy with me and not expect anything bad." She blurts

"Haha no, well...? how was everything?"

"Perfect." she smiled and came to lay next to me.

"I love you." I say

"I love you too." She says
