Maia's POV
"Luke? Luke calm down- I- I can't understand you," I say into my cell "wait what about Jocelyn?"
"Sebastian took her again. He also is the reason Clary had a miscarriage, gave her some sort of pills. I need you to see if you hear ANYTHING about the darklord, see if he is connected to Sebastian for me will you?" He says
"Of course Luke, of course." I say back
"Thank you Maia" he replies. And with that we hang up.
"Everything alright sweetheart?" Bat asks
"No, Jocelyn is missing again because of Sebastian, he also is the reason Clary had a miscarriage he gave her these pills I guess. And Luke is just such a mess over it all. Plus the darklord might have something to do with Sebastian. I don't know what to do to help... I feel useless." I spit out sadly.. And look away
"Love? Look at me." Bat says taking his hand lifting up my chin "you aren't useless. We will figure this out together okay? Think, who would cross Sebastian in a heart best to get something they want?"
"Well Fair Folk have unusual liking to him for some reason, maybe the night children?" I say matter of fact tone
"Bingo, let's go talk to their clan leader, okay?" he says while kissing my cheek.
"I love you.... thank you." I say
"I love you too babe." he says while kissing me passionately
Jace's POV
Looking at Clary it all comes back and hits me like a train. I've lost my baby boy after 5 months... I wonder how Clary feels, having him.. die in her. She probably feels worse, having a special attachment and all. I hope we get past this, we are strong. I love her more then the world itself, we will get past this we have too.
"Baby?" clary stirs
"Yes hunny, I'm here" I say back. Brushing her hair out of her face."
"What's going on, anything happen when I was out?" She asks blankly
"Uhh, Luke is here." I say
"And my mom?" she says
"At the house, Luke needed to talk to me about something and she wanted to stay home." I say, scared of how easily it was to lie to her..
"Oh alright, can I call her?" She asks
"Later okay? Luke wants to see you first"
"Okay, bring him in." she says "does he know everything?"
"Yeah." I say pretty blankly and curse myself for sounding so cruel
"Okay." She says
